8 is a tortured soul, can no longer feel empathy or most positive emotions, he's been mutilated and revived over and over by the scavs all for some sick game, most of his body is the damaged, burnt, skin of the shadows, he was recently rescued, but didn't remember anyone or what the agency was, despite our best efforts 8 is still traumatized heavily by the events, and no improvements to his emotions were made, the best we can do is supply comfort and support during "moments".
We're unsure if 8 will ever be suitable to ever go to Eden again, that would be his decision, the few things he did remember was how to fight, but that proves futile since even slight touches can frighten 8.

The only parts of his body unchanged are his head, right leg, and hands, the shadow parts are causing major discomfort to 8, soken has done her best to dull it but it may never fully go away.
8 is extremely quiet, only ever whispering, and only rarely too.
Turns out the scavs were trying to get information out of 8 but he held firm all this time.
