mini story: contagions and mutations

Chell was in the medical ward, her mystery disease hasent died down, only getting worse.

Soken took a blood sample and found something terrifying.

It was the strain of the viral contagion.

Soken:"dammit, the contagion might be trying to gain a resistance to the cure, or worse, already gained immunity"

Chell:"so...can we still hold it off like we usually do?"

Soken:"I tried that, this disease is pulling all the stops to become dangerous again, but I found a formula that can temporarily keep it at bay, you're going to be bed ridden to prevent it from progressing further until we find another cure, it's already grown resistance to medicine I don't wanna know if its also become more aggressive"

6:"let's also hope it didn't find new ways to spread, its bad enough it suddenly appeared"

Soken:"what I think happend is even though we're cured from the contagion, its not really gone, it's just unable to harm us, it's why we all have slight nausea even after being cured, we're still fighting it, but the contagion might be trying to overthrow the cure again"

Chell:"so... wouldn't this mean we can never leave? Incase it just mutates again and spreads?"

Soken:"if it's impossible to completely destroy then I'm afraid so"

6:"then... all those people who retired...oh God, did you see the news a while back? People were getting some disease that was causing the same effects the contagion has"

Soken:"Oh great, and I assume the agency hasn't handed out the cures?"

6:"I'm wondering how many people still think the agency cares"

Soken:"and I can't leave to go to the city and be another angel, contracts are stupid"

Chell:"you could send the cure ingredients to hospitals, they can brew the cure themselves and stop this shit"

Soken:"that's one idea, if people actually trusted the government let alone the agency"

6:"aren't you a known medical expert in the city? You come up in the news occasionally, I mean  people were wondering if you would suddenly start saving lives again"

Soken:"well, I'll see what I can do on that end, but that depends on if the agency doesn't be themselves and not allow it, plus people will be wondering where I went"

Chell:"we can only hope it's not the new strain going around"
