Soken:"well we got strings of good news and unfavorable news, I take it your looking forward to the good news?"

Chell:"that would be nice"

Soken:"good news is: the mutated strain of the contagion is being held back, current medicine still works on it, but less effectively, another good note, the mutation is contained in the agency, the sickness effecting everyone else is just your usual epidemic that people freak out about, it WAS strangely similar to the contagion but its all good, lastly, it hasn't spread to anyone else in the agency, its probably unable to mutate while the medicine is working"

Chell:"and the not-so-good news?"

Soken:"ah, yes, the process to finding a cure is not doing well. we haven't found anything that doesn't just hold it off yet, but I'm taking the initiative into making new medicine instead of hoping what we already have will work, but there is one issue with this..."

Chell:"what?"

Soken:"well its not only unethical, illegal, and just wrong to experiment medicine on someone, with or without permission, and the risk of hurting you physically or menially, but if we do take blood samples the contagion would be free to mutate, maybe become airborne or mutate immunities, and even if we do keep pressuring it with the medicine we would be unable to tell if we were making progress. in short, its a stalemate on both sides"

Chell:"so what can we do?"

Soken:"well if we go the safe way and take blood samples we might make things worse, but if we break human rights we would be sued and probably hurt you majorly, I have no idea what were going to do..." 

Chell:"what if you tried the abomination?"

Soken:"pardon?"

Chell:"the abomination is immune right? you couldn't find a trace of the contagion on it, while our cures just make it too weak to hurt us, its still IN us though, but AB is perfectly fine."

Soken:"are you suggesting its BLOOD is a cure?! that doesn't make any sense!"

Chell:"Skinner blood cured Dexios condition didn't it?"

Soken was about to protest, but found themselves unable to think of a counter statement.

Soken:"I mean... but what if its blood gives you some other disease? we haven't checked if the AB is Sick or capable is getting sick"

Chell:"its our best bet, those things clearly adapted to Eden's living conditions, weather or not the abomination is natural on Eden its has survived being there for possibly years"

Soken:"(sigh) fine ill run some tests on the thing, if your right about this it will save us a lot of time and the agency money, just try not to let 6 know, I doubt he will agree with this no matter what either of us say"

Chell:"he's too stubborn for his own wellbeing"

Soken:"knowing how many bullets I've had to dig out of him or how many stitches he's gotten I can agree that statement"

Soken:"oh and Chell?"

Chell:"hmm?"

Soken:"try talking to him, lately he's been having outbursts, I think the stress is getting to him, I'm not a psychiatrist but he's definitely experiencing some chronic stress levels, maybe its best if he shed some tears for once? that sounds dark but its for the best"

Chell:"he's been having some night terrors actually, so plenty of tears have been shed already, but ill be sure to chat with him"

Soken:"has he said anything about the nightmares?"

Chell:"no but he gets real clingy every time one happens so its probably related to me" 

Soken:"yeah that's sounding A lot like DPD, better get to it, I'm not surprised he got that condition based on how he treats everyone like fragile glass"

Chell:"doesn't DPD mean he is the one who requires constant care?"

Soken:"in short DPD is being very clingy for varying reasons, he's always taking the hits, he sees us, but mostly you, as something he CANT lose, and he HAS to protect no matter the cost, now you should really go find him."

Chell:"alright"
