Chapter 21

Nagisa POV

As everyone walked in I made sure to double check everyone's wavelengths. None of them were out of the ordinary. Maybe this will be harder than I thought. I started taking notes as Korosensei talked throughout the day. I would glance at everyone every so often to make sure that none of them changed.

Finally I got to Kayano. Her wavelength changed. She was more nervous than anything. Wait. Why is Kayano nervous? I'll ask her after school. After the end of class I began to make conversation.

"Hey Keade! How are you?" I asked running up. "Oh I'm fine! How are you?" she answered with a smile on her face. "Oh good! The only thing is that last night my parent's house was broken into. Whoever did it made it seem like I did it. Ha!" I said as calmly as I could. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" she answered nervously. "Something wrong?" I asked suspiciously.

"Nothing! I mean I am just nervous about the math test tomorrow! Sorry about your family!" she yelled as she ran away. "Gotcha," I said under my breath. Although I was still confused. Why did she break into my house?

I was walking to my house when I saw Kayano talking to some shady guy (or girl I don't really know) in an alley. I decided to get a it closer so I could hear them.

"Did you do it?" the man said.

"Yes. But when will I be able to stop?! I don't wanna do this to Nagisa anymore! Please just let my family go!" she whisper yelled. I gasped in shock but I stayed still.

I continued listening. "I will not let them go until you finish your task! Don't ask again!" the man yelled.

"Ok! I'm sorry Asano! I won't ask again," she whimpered. I gasped slightly. Asano?! Oh he's gonna get it when Karma gets hold of this information! I turned away and began to slowly make my way back to my house.

Finally when I was out of sight I ran all the way to my house not stopping. "Mom! Dad!" I yelled out into the house. They both came running downstairs looking worried.

"What is it honey?! Are you hurt?!" Irina asked frantically. "No! I know who put the jelly on our wall! It was Kayano!" I said. They glared but before they could think anything I said, "It's Asano! He's holding her family hostage. He forced her to do this! It's not her fault!"

"Asano? I should have known!" Karasuma scolded himself. Irina grabbed him and hugged him saying, "It's not your fault. Stop blaming yourself."

"I have to tell Karma!" I yelled as I ran out of the house. I didn't stop running until I got to Karma's house. As I ran up to the door I knocked out of breath. He opened the door to see me kneeling down trying to catch my breath.

"Darling? What are you doing? Why are you so out of breath?" he asked, grabbing me by the shoulders. I gulped my air down and said, "Asano is behind this. He is making Kayano torture me and my family because he has them hostage."

His eyes turned into pure anger. He helped stand me up and then we began to go back to the alley that I saw them at. Please let them still be there! Kayano please be ok!

We continued running but when we got there they were gone. All we saw was her jacket and a note tucked into it. I growled as Karma read it aloud.

"You want your precious Kayano back then I suggest you back off! If you send anyone my way. Even if you come to get me then she will die! Meet me on Wednesday right here at 9:00. Don't be late."

I can't believe he would do this to her! I dropped to my knees bawling my eyes out. Karma ran over to me and put me in a warm embrace. I kept crying and crying saying that it was all my fault. He kept shushing me but I kept going. "It's all my fault! If only I found out sooner! This wouldn't have happened! It's all my fau-" Hefinally got me to shut up by kissing me.
