The wind howled fiercely and the sun was slowly falling on the horizon. It had stopped snowing, but that meant almost nothing as the air was still bitterly cold. Bowser was staring off into the distance as red and black clouds continued to glide through the dusk sky. A quick flash of red lightning lit up the dark heavens. The Koopa King knew the time had come. He turned away from the scene, axe across his back, and started walking.

King K. Rool was contemplating as he polished his crown. He was sitting on crates next to a building in an abandoned town. He thought about his past goals, and what he had done so far. When did he become so goody goody to a cause not his own? When will this unending war finally come to an end? When will he go home to finally defeat the Kongs? He just wished, if anything, that if this truly was the end. He wished he could hold on to the Crystal Coconut one last time.

He placed his crown back on his head as he thought of this. He heard heavy footsteps. He looked up and saw Bowser. He nodded to him, and a silent agreement went through them.

It's time.

King K. Rool put on a sharp grin, picked up his diamond club and holstered it, and started walking with Bowser...

Eggman was tinkering with his blasters, sitting on a chair in front of a rustic house. He thought about Sonic and his friends, and how he might never see them again. Such thoughts had once filled him with glee, with jubilation. But looking back, Eggman considered that pesky hedgehog a respectable arch nemesis. And Tails? Well, he'd probably consider him his greatest arch rival. Had things been different, perhaps they could have gotten along well together. They could have maybe been even colleagues who respected each other but at the same time didn't want to lose to each other.

Eggman chuckles at the thought. He pushed those thoughts aside, knowing that now was not the time for reminiscing trivial things.

Now was the time for fighting.

He looked up at the sound of footsteps. Bowser and King K. Rool were walking. Without a second thought, he holstered his blaster, and stood up. Then he grabbed two high-powered pulse rifles, cocked them, and joined his allies for the upcoming battle.

Ganondorf and Ridley were sitting their cells, waiting for their inevitable fates to come. Ridley sharpens his claws by dragging them across the hard floor, sparks flickering as his tail whipped behind him like a cat. Ganondorf's eyes were closed as he sat against the cell wall, his anger and hate for being betrayed festering and burning inside him with no way of release. The lights flickered, and the two looked up confused.

Then the prison doors slammed open in and a bright light shone in, and the pair shielded their eyes. Bowser, K. Rool, and Eggman stood at the door with a large hole right behind them. All three moved and stood in front of Ganondorf and Ridley in their cells.

"You ever felt played for a fool, Ganny?" Bowser asked. Ganondorf's eyes twitched in annoyance at the nickname. His anger spiked inside, but he didn't let it show. To show any break of emotion is a weakness. Still, he couldn't help but answer in a deep growl.

"Not now. Not ever."

A long, tense silence hung in the air between them. Bowser held up a fist and he punched down the bars holding him and Ridley prisoner. A loud clang and the sound of broken metal filled the room, dust building and sparks flying as it skid across the floor.

The two villains' eyes narrow in suspicion and wariness. They think this to be some kind of trap, and their suspicions seem to prove correct when Bowser held up a giant, wide long sword in his hand. He had a malicious grin on his face. Ganondorf and Bowser stared down at one another, each daring each other to pull something. Bowser turned the sword around until the blade faced the floor.

The two thought it was the end. Ridley had hoped to go down in battle, caked in the blood of his enemies and the innocent. Ganondorf knew that Bowser couldn't really kill him, as only Link and those who beat the Triforce can hope to bring him down. Still, a fight with Bowser can get very ugly very quick. It felt like an eternity had passed, and they just wanted it to be over. But then, Bowser surprised them.

"Then let's show them what happens when they mess with us bad guys." Bowser says as he tosses the sword to the Demon King. Ganondorf catches the sword, looks down at it, and grinned. He slung it across his back, stood up, and walked out into the snow. Ridley, eager to join what would no doubt be his most chaotic slaughter yet, stood tall and followed the group of villains.

Many footsteps could be heard outside his small, temporary accommodations and comforts as a guard. King Dedede and Escargon knew it was time to face the biggest menace of the multiverse too. But only the King of Dreamland was a fighter, a real fighter. He looked back to Escargoon one last time, before donning his mask and walking out into the snow with two hammers in his hands. And he joined them in their march.

The group of six had made it to an icy tundra field with a small rocky mountain in front of them. In the distance of the mountain was the dark red and black clouds, and what emerges from the malevolent shadow is a giant Grimm of an unimaginable size. A giant Grimm Whale known only as Monstra. It slowly, maybe even gracefully flew in the air like a great white shark. More of the red lightning struck behind it.

Ridley's claws rubbed against each other like knives with barely contained sadistic glee. King K. Rool snorted as he rolled his shoulders and neck, pops and cracks filling the silent air. King Dedede spun his right hammer in his hand. Ganondorf pulled out the longsword Bowser gifted to him and replicated it with his magic, now holding two long swords in each hand. Eggman's brow furrowed, his finger tapping gently on the trigger of his pulse rifle. Bowser breathed out a low growl and smoke began to rise out of his nostrils.

They all waited, each one anxious for the battle that is to come. Then the whale opened its mouth and a huge black mire came erupting like a geyser. The black miry substance began to flood the land in front of the group of villains turned defenders. From the black murky and frankly disgusting mire rose the Grimm. Hundreds and hundreds of the Grimm of known and unknown types came from the unknown depths of this evil slime. Their soulless golden eyes gaze at the rebelling group of villains. They snarl, growl, hiss, caw, and make other sounds that indicate that they were hostile and hungry for blood.

"YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAWWWWW!" Bowser roared as a battle cry and ran the charge with his giant axe in hand. The rest of the group broke into a sprint alongside him, with K. Rool running on all fours and Ridley using his massive wings to fly across the snowy tundra. The Grimm in front of them began making war cries of their own and charged right for them.
