As the big fight broke out...

"How come you didn't invite Dedede to come?" K. Rool asked while slitting the throat of an Ursa Major with his claws. He threw the carcass at an incoming Creeper before stomping down on the head of an incoming Beowolf.

"Besides the obvious?" Bowser gave him a deadpan expression while snapping a Boarbatusk's neck. He watched as an incoming claw from an Ursa swiped at him, so he closed around the arm with his jaws and ripped it right off.

Now that he mentioned, why didn't he invite Dedede? True he was a bit under powered compared to most bad guys, but he was a great villain back in his glory days. He tried to get a hold of him, but his minion Escargot or something told him he had his own battle to fight currently.

Whatever that meant.

King Dedede was waiting for his next Smash Bros battle. He is a big and large penguin, smaller compared to Bowser, but not fatter than King K. Rool. He is wearing yellow gloves, and a red royal robe, with a peace sign that looked more like a rabbit on the back of his robe. As he waited, he started training with a near perfect copy of his glorious, De De De-lightful self. Near perfect because, let's face it, no one can recreate the awe-inspiring King of Dreamland. As he trained for his upcoming match, the intercom chimed.

"King Dedede, your next match is up!" The announcers deep voice called.

"It's about time!" King Dedede said while wiping sweat off his forehead. A holo board appeared showing him and his latest opponent.

It was a Mii Brawler, something he didn't often see in Smash Bros battles. Their face was hidden over a shadow, which meant that this must be a custom-made Mii Brawler, which wasn't as rare compared to the standard character. But when he looked at the name of this particular Mii Brawler, he laughed.

(Start at 2:22)

"Dyeh heh heh heh heh!!" He let out his signature, belly shaking laugh.

"Ey, you see this Escargon!" He pointed at the screen of the holo board. Escargon had been watching his Majesty train while he waited for his tournament match. The snail looked up at the screen to see the Mii Brawler's name.

ESAM.

"Someone's tryna pretend they are one of em Smash Pro playahs!! Dyeh heh heh heh heh!!" King Dedede laughed again, like this was all some sort of big joke. Escargon normally would agree and laugh along with him, but he couldn't shake this feeling of weariness the longer he stared at that name.

"I don't know about this, sire." Escargon shook his head while crossing his arms.

"HUH?! Why's that?!" King Dedede turned to face his loyal henchman/advisor/punching bag upon hearing him voice his disagreement. Escargon turned, eyes closed as he folded his hands and pointed them at his king.

He said, in a matter-of-fact tone, "I'm afraid you may have actually ran into a Pro player."

"WHAT?!" King Dedede snapped, eye twitching. "There's no way that this is the real deal!" King Dedede said, giving the snail a glare. There was no way that this Mii Brawler was the legendary ESAM, said to be the strongest Pikachu player in the world. He stubbornly refused to believe that, and he was going to prove it.

"Matter of fact, I'm gonna go and check ta see if that Pro playah is streamin' on Twitch!" He said, pulling out his Codec while typing in "ESAM twitch livestream". As the screen loaded, King Dedede returned to his tirade.

"Cause there's no way a guy like me can possibly run into a–!" Escargon sees his Majesty's eyes grow wide with what appeared to be shock and fear. Escargon slithered over to see what King Dedede was seeing, and his own eyes grow wide.

There he was. THE Legendary ESAM, along with King Dedede. This is the real deal, alright. Because there was his Mii Brawler.

King Dedede's eyes bugged out of his sockets and he screamed like a little girl. Before he could make an escape, the King of Dreamland teleported to the battlefield.

The slaughter has begun.

Now you know the real reason when King Dedede isn't joining the big fight. Just an entertaining thought to go off of.
