Qing came home before lunch today. Earlier than I thought. He spent one night away from our home and me to supposedly think. But I don't think he has done enough thinking.

When he got home, he went straight to washing in the bathroom before tackling me into a tight hug.

Qing: (burying his face on my shoulder) (whiny tone) I hate not sleeping next to you.

Me: (touching his still damp hair) Did you get any sleep at all?

Qing: Maybe two or three hours. I love MD but his place is a dump. He doesn't even have enough food for one person in his fridge. I offered to buy groceries for him.

Me: Goodness, that bad?

Qing: (leaning out to pout) We had take outs for late night snack and he made a bakery run this morning. I stared him straight in the eyes and told him to live better. He cannot live forever on take outs.

Me: I hope you remembered to thank him for letting you stay the night in his place.

Qing: He was bored last night. Our disagreement actually saved him. We get to talk and play together.

Me: Thats good. So...how are you feeling?

Qing: (hugging me again) Hmmm, better now that I am with you. As always, only being with you makes me feel balanced.

Me: What about your online class?

Qing: They are scheduled after lunch. I have two back to back online classes so...I need to set up my laptop.

Me: Are you hungry?

Qing: A little.

I fixed him a light lunch of sandwiches and chips as Qing fired up his laptop. I called MD to thank him for harboring Qing last night. I told him I'd pay him for that this weekend.

MD: How?

Me: By cleaning your place a little and bringing groceries to you. Qing has complaints on his accommodation last night. I humbly suggest you keep your day job and never go to hotel or BnB business.

MD: Your husband to be is a drama queen, Dayu.

Me: I know. (chuckling) He was sensitive last night. Thank you for bearing with him.

MD: Anytime. And I won't say no to groceries. Heck, maybe Qing was right. Living on take outs is not a way to live.

Me: Do you want to learn how to cook basic and simple dishes? The fast and easy ones? There are so many who could teach you. Joi for one...

Joi, another close friend of Qing, is actually having the time of his life. With his relationship to Kaki being steady and he has a good job of being a sous chef, Joi is actually winning in life right now.

MD: I'm a little busy at the moment.

Me: I understand. Anyways, I'll call you again when I can swing on your place with DaWan in tow.

MD: Thanks Dayu. I appreciate it.

Me: No. I'm the one whose thankful. Qing came home safe, thanks to you.

MD: Anytime. Tell Qing to take it easy.

MD is a decent guy. He's no way perfect but he's the dependable type of friend.

After my conversation with MD, I got ready to go to work. I still have several scenes to shoot for the little project I accepted. I get to don my barista outfit again. Also, the promotion for that other drama I shoot is also ongoing. I'm actually busy.

But I know in my heart that I'll put all of those aside for Qing. I love my work but I know my priority lies with the man I'm about to marry.

Still, I went to work because thats my responsibility as an adult. Not gonna inconvenience people in the production. Qing was also busy to get to his online classes.

Work was fun and ended well. I get home before 8 in the evening. Qing is asleep. I think he had a nap. He woke up when I nudged him.

Me: Dinner.

Qing: (rolling on the bed) Hungry.

Me: (sighing) Alright. Do you want some bao and dumpling soup?

Qing: Potstickers.

Ah, he wants the crispy bottom kind.

Me: Okay. I'll make them.

Dinner was simple to make because I already have frozen dough for bao buns. I just cooked the minced pork and lots of chives with osyter sauce, soy sauce, ginger paste and some chilies. It will serve as the filling for the bao buns that I steamed. Potstickers were even easier to cook. You just place the frozen homemade dumplings on the pan, pour water and cornstarch solution on it, close the lid and let it do its thing until its ready.

Dinner was done in thirty minutes. Qing helped arranging things on the table and we sat down to eat.

Qing: (between bites of food) Lets buy a ring for you.

Me: Is that what you think is the best?

Qing: Yes. Like I said, I will not see you put on a ring you don't like in our wedding. Not on that day.

Me: Alright. What about you?

Qing: (smiling) I actually like the ring I bought. Thats why I bought them.

Me: So you'll wear a simple wedding band while I wear a different one. We won't match.

Qing: (shrugging) So? Will someone sue us for not wearing matching wedding rings? No, right? Who cares if they don't match, as long as we are happy to wear them.

Me: (grinning teasingly at him) Do you think if others spot us wearing different rings, they'll think we are having an affair behind our spouses' backs?

Qing: (chuckling) Will that kind of naughty assumption from others appeal to you?

Me: I don't know. It might confuse people.

Qing: As long as you are not confuse as to whom you belong to while wearing your ring.

Me: Of course. I belong to you.

Qing: (looking satisfied) Then thats that.

He is so easy to appease, really. Dealing with Qing could be simple at times.

We kissed and made up. We are good. We also made a decision to wear unmatching rings. Or, maybe I'll wear that simple gold band once in a while. Who says I can't have two wedding rings? Whatever. What matters is that Qing understood my feelings, even though sometimes I don't expressed them well.

Hey, if you are having a disagreement with your someone special or a loved one...its alright. We can argue at times, no worries. What matters is what we can do to resolve matters and how we can find some common grounds with them. It might seem grim now but take a deep breath, its alright.

If they need space to think, give it to them. Also, use that distance to think yourself. This might seem cliché but truly, communication helps.

Hope it'll work out. He he
