Amidst all the chaos of last week, we all might seem to be forgetting that Wang Qing turned 29 this year. Yup, March is his birth month.

We were not together on his birthday though. At least some part of it. I was actually in Heilongjiang when March 10th hit. It was during that time when DaLin was in the hospital and I decided to go back home to support her and Xiao. But I managed to get back home for Qing's birthday dinner with his family. Qing opted for a simpler celebration because in his logic, we are already too busy to have a birthday party.

As for his birthday gift, we picked it up during the weekend. We bought an EV (electric vehicle) for him. We split the cost of his new car. Its alright, I'm happy to see Qing so happy to have a new toy...I mean car. His third one. Next will be the sportscar he is eyeing, but that will be for later.

Anyways, he's 29 now and still the same. He still thinks he can blew smoke on my ear by whispering sweet nothings and that'll make me putty on his hand. Ah, his delusions. He really thinks he has me locked down but we all know he's the one I have wrapped around my little finger.

(Right...)

Whatever. I know you all agree with me.

Thats it for Qing's simple birthday this year. I'm happy he is getting older, wiser and more in love with me. Good for him.

Anyways, I made the mistake of tuning in to world news. I know some of you might think the news we get here in China is controlled by our government and I don't blame you for thinking that because we do have a...how shall we say it, uhm a government that does filter what news could be available to its people.

But that doesn't mean that we are ignorant of whats happening around the globe. Thinking Chinese people are not aware of the happenings in our neighboring countries IS the stupid thing to assume. We do know. We have our ways to know. But like most the rest of the world population, anyone has rights to choose what news would matter to them. Chinese people practice that too.

In an ideal world, everything should matter. Every news should be tackled. Every issue should be resolved. But there is this pesky thing called mental health that in truth could not take everything. Like everything.

And thats what Qing emphasized on me when he saw me reading world news on my phone.

Qing: (taking my phone from my hand) Stop reading.

Me: (surprised at that move from him) Why?

Qing: Because you don't need to read these things.

Me: (looking around) Are we roleplaying Master and Slave again? When did I agree to this?

Qing: (sighing) Dayu ah, you know its not good for you to stress about things on top of worrying about the preparations for our wedding.

Me: Ahm, yeah I know that...still though, I want to know whats happening on that thing...(waving a hand in the air) You know...that thing...

Qing: Putin's war?

Me: (snapping my fingers) Exactly. That war! I still want to know whats happening there.

Qing: Why?

Me: Because...

I tried my hardest to come up with a reason why I would like to know whats happening in Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

By the way, I get it that we have different opinions on whats happening right now in Ukraine. We know whats the things flying on social media sites. Like whose fault this is. Whose to blame. Different angles. Different names and countries are being mentioned. I get that.
