THE STAKES

The wolves howled in the forest far away as your bedroom window creaked open, the man climbed in, carrying your now limb body with your blood all over his clothes.

He gently placed you on one side of the bed and examined your newly placed seal by Danzo which was still seeping.

The grunt left his lips as he grind his teeth in anger. He lifted from his one-knee stance and walked towards the dressers to find some gauze and first aid kit.
Luckily, he claimed one and rushed back to your side and started wrapping it up. He was sure he could hear faint whimpering as he treated you.

The look of despair and the frown formed on his chiseled face radiated the guilt he took on for your condition. He finished the last bits and covered you up placing a bottle of water on your end table.

He stood beside your for couple of minutes and finally arched his back kissing your forehead and giving a gentle pat after. He slowly walked toward the window turning to give you one last glance and finally disappeared.

"Disappeared?!!!"

The two feminine hands crashed on the table breaking it into half.

"How can you come here and tell me that he has vanished!!!"

The two ninjas standing before the lady bowed down even more as they spoke in disappointment," forgive us, Lady Tsunade..... but Lord Danzo is no where to be found. Word has it that he had gone to one of his many hideout to conduct some research...."

"Research? My ass!!" Tsunade shrugged and signaled the ninjas to get lost.

"You don't have to be so hard on them, you know...."

Tsunade's eyes lifted to meet your (e/c) orbs as you gently resided your presence.

"Of all the people.... (Y/n), I don't expect you to take this lightly" She sighed and shifted her gaze to your waist which was now covered with longer tops that you had started to wear after that tragic night.

"Well, according to the scrolls, the seal should be vanishing in few days either way....." you tried to reason with Tsunade's anger.

She tilted her head in disbelief," Tell me.... Did you had any contact with Akatsuki after that? "

You shook your head in negative response.

"And did he come to check?" Tsunade questioned further.

Your eyes squinted a little as your gaze lowered down on the ground knowing exactly what she was talking about and you wished you could have said yes but it wouldn't be true.

"He is trying to protect you (y/n), from all the repercussion of that hideous weapon Danzo used on you." Tsunade tried to assure you.

"Yeah..." you said faintly , " I wish he would have come.....I could take a little pain to see those black orbs" you mumbled the next words.

After few minutes you pulled yourself from the grieving feelings," Our main target is Akatsuki but since I can't approach the mission including the organization yet, I would like you grant me permission to see Sasuke.... I wanna know how is he doing or has he transformed into serpent yet?"

Tsuande let out a small chuckle," You have to be careful (y/n).... Take some backup with you even it's a social call, given nowadays, no forest is safe "

"I will look into it ...." You said and turned your back as you slowly walked away knowing damn well that you want to go alone and nobody can stop you.

" I have some news.... A good one if you prefer saying that....." the man with white hair smirked fixing his glasses.

"Just spit it out " A stern voice commanded him in annoyance.

Kabuto chuckled," Oh Sasuke...... you're growing into an impatient man.... I must say...."

Kabuto walked closer to him," You know, I may not have found the Akatsuki hideout where they kept your beloved (y/n) but I did find out the location of one of their members' that for sure accompanied her......"

Sasuke gave him an annoyed look," beloved?? She is just someone I care for because she stood by me in hard times..... and I'm quite sure she didn't share common thoughts with me.... But I can't let her roam around with those criminals....."

"Well you might be really interested in this member.... But I would say you shouldn't approach him without Lord Orochimaru as you're still his disciple and still learning....."

Sasuke smirked a little," well it's time.... To test what have I learned then.....let's go!"

Kabuto and Sasuke teleported to a strange setting of enormous rocks surrounding by trees. The structure was dense and impossible to figure out.

"Well you can meet him when he will come back...." Kabuto said," I have been following his moves and found out that's where he reached out for some alone time but God knows with who....."  Kabuto made the mischievous comment which had Sasuke's blood boiling.

"What's his name!?" Sasuke inquired with rage in his voice.

Kabuto fixed his glasses,

"Itachi Uchiha....."

AUTHOR's NOTE: HEllo!!! everyone I hope you all are doing well and thriving. I don't like talking about this with anyone but since you guys were loyal to my writing and came to read my book that I wasn't able tp update for a long time, I think I owe you all the explanation of my absence.

There is no easy way to say this nor to write, but sadly my mother passed away

Life was upside down, and it is not like i disappeared from this platform, i was updating my other story gradually as that story is of different writing pattern and is shot and discrete.

BUT THIS STORY, is where i want to be 100 percent concentrated and creative and be living it as i write.

I apolozied for keep you all waiting, but i promise you new interesing plots are coming as im shoving my trauma bac of my mind and escaping into this world of fatasy.

P.S.: HAVE YOU GUYS WATCHED SANDMAN ON NETFLIX ??!! TOM STURRIDGE IS SO FKING HOT!!!! I CANT GET OVER HIM, HE IS LIKE REAL LIFE ITACHI.
