Not making progress/ we need to do it now

(Sunday September 23rd)
(12 noon)
Jermaine POV
It's 12 noon and I'm holding Janet's hand my baby was in labor and has been pushing for over two hours she been in labor for over 24 hours it moved slowly but now she was finally able to push I knew my baby was exhausted
Jermaine: you've got this baby *he kisses her head*
Doctor Ed: push janet big push
Janet bears down and pushes the best she can
As she pushes the nurse ( her name will Ashley)notices something
Nurse Ashley: doctor
Doctor Ed: yes
Nurse Ashley: her heart rate is dropping and so are the babies
Doctor Ed: stop pushing Janet
She stops pushing
Doctor Ed: we are going to have to take a different route you've been in labor a long time and you've been pushing for two hours and I know your exhausted*he looks at them*
Jermaine: what do you suggest doctor
Doctor Ed: she's not going to be able to push them out and their heart rate and hers is dropping we need to do an emergency c section right now
Janet looks at Jermaine
Jermaine: it's going to be okay baby *he holds her hand*
Doctor Ed: Jermaine will you come with me I'm going to give you a suit to put on
Jermaine: okay
They wheel janet into the operating room while Jermaine changes
After 10 mins Jermaine and doctor  Ed and his team come in
Doctor Ed: Jermaine you can sit right there next to her
Jermaine: thank you doctor you okay love *he holds her hand*
Jan: I'm scared baby
Jermaine: it's okay baby everything is going to be okay I promise
They numb janet so she can't feel anything
Doctor Ed: okay janet you ready
Jan: yeah
Doctor Ed: starting the first incision
As they start the c section Jermaine rubs Janet's head trying to keep her calm
After a few minutes they pull the first baby out
Doctor Ed: well hello happy birthday it's a boy
They rush him over to the bed
Jan: why is he not crying *she looks at Jermaine*
Jermaine: shhh it's okay baby
They suction the baby's mouth and his nose As he starts to cry
Jan: thank god
After another 6 minutes their babygirl is out
Doctor Ed: welcome to the world beautiful
She starts to cry
They take her over to clean her off as they do the same to their baby boy
Nurse Ashley: dad do you want to cut the cord
Jermaine goes over to the table and cuts the cords of their twins
Nurse Ashley: congratulations their beautiful their on the small side *she puts oxygen on their mouth*
Jermaine: are they okay
Nurse Ashley: we are going to have to take them to the icu their having a hard time breathing on their own your babies are small your daughter is 5 pounds 2 ounces and your son is 5 pounds 3 ounces
Jermaine: can I at least show them to my wife before you take them
The nurse puts the babies in beds and wheels them over to janet
Nurse Ashley: I have to take them to the icu we need to monitor their breathing their very small
Jan: *she kisses both of them crying* are they going to be okay
Nurse Ashley: they going to be okay we're just going to monitor their breathing
Jan: will I be able to see them
Nurse Ashley: later tonight when your in your recovery room you can come see them do they have names
Jan: our son is Jermaine Michael Mauldin *she smiles at Jermaine* he has his daddy's first name
Jermaine: thank you so much baby I got a little jr *he lets the tears fall from his eyes hearing janet say their son has his first name* and our daughter is *he looks at janet*
Jan: our daughter name is Scarlett *she looks at Jermaine*
Jermaine: Scarlett Damita Mauldin *he smiles at janet*
Nurse Ashley: that's beautiful she has your wife's middle name
Jermaine: yeah I think it's beautiful *he smiles at janet looking at her*
Jan: Awwl thank you baby
Nurse Ashley: you want to give them a kiss mama before we take them
Janet kisses her babies as Jermaine does the same they take them away to the icu
Three hours later janet is finally in her recovery room
Jermaine: baby *he looks at her holding her hand*
Jan: yes love
Jermaine: you okay
Jan: yeah just sore I'm tried I'm worried about our babies I want to see them I want to hold them
Jermaine: I know baby and you will soon I'm so proud baby you did so good today I know you were scared but you did great *he smiles at her kissing her lips*
Jan: I couldn't have done it without you baby and baby *she looks at him*
Jermaine: yes love
Jan: our babies share a birthday with daddy *she smiles and starts to cry* I couldn't have asked for anything more I never imaged that we would build a family like this together but I'm so thankful I'm so grateful and blessed baby I love you so so much beyond words
Jermaine: don't cry baby you just gave me the best birthday gift I could ever get which is the birth of our twins I love you so much *he kisses her* should we call our parents and the kids
Jan: yeah *she grabs her phone FaceTiming mother*
Katherine: hello
Jan: hi mother hi pat hi Michael
Katherine: hi Jan hi Jermaine happy birthday
Pat: happy birthday son
Michael: happy birthday son
Jermaine: guess what you guys *he smiles*
Pat: what son
Jermaine: the twins are here
Katherine: Awwl yay when we're they born
Jan: today they share a birthday with their dada *she smiles at Jermaine*
Jermaine: best birthday presents ever
Michael: did you have them naturally janet
Jan: no so I was in labor for over 24 hours I pushed for two hours and my heart rate and the babies heart rate were dropping so they had to do an emergency c section
Pat: are they healthy janet how are they how's mama doing
Jan: I'm exhausted honestly but I'm happy their here their a little small in weight and they were having trouble breathing so their in the icu right now
Pat: but their going to be okay
Jermaine: yeah they just going to monitor them
Jan: where's our babies
They call Skylar and Matteo
Matteo: yeah grandma
Michael: come here we have a surprise for you guys
Skylar: a surprise what grandpa
They run to them
Pat: *she turns the phone so they can see* who is that you guys
Matteo: mama and daddy
Skylar: hi mama and daddy
Jan: hi babies
Jermaine: hi babies
Skylar: mama daddy when you come home
Jan: hopefully soon baby guess what
Matteo: what mama
Jan: your baby brother and sister were born today
Matteo: yay we have a brother and sister
Jan: do you guys know what today is
Skylar: daddy's birthday
Jan: that's right baby
Matteo: happy birthday daddy
Skylar: happy birthday daddy
Matteo: wow daddy so bother and sister have the same birthday as you
Jermaine: yeah pretty cool huh
Skylar: yeah mama daddy when do we see brother and sister
Jermaine: soon baby okay
Skylar: okay
Janet and Jermaine spend 3 hours talking to the kids as their still on the phone the doctor comes in
Doctor Ed: Janet Jermaine oh I'm sorry
Jan: your okay um Skylar teo mama and daddy have to go okay
Skylar: but we miss you and daddy mama *she cries*
Matteo: yeah
Jan: I know babies mama and daddy miss you guys to we love you
Jermaine: we love you you guys be good for your grandma's and grandpa
Matteo: love you mama and daddy
Skylar: love you mama and daddy
They Hangup
Doctor Ed: how's mama feeling you okay janet
Jan: um sore I'm exhausted
Doctor Ed: yeah I know it's been a very long day already I know that you were in labor for 24 hours and pushed for two so I totally understand um because you ended up having a c section you will be here a bit longer so we make sure your good and of course the babies
Jermaine: when can we see them
Doctor Ed: in about a hour we will wheel you in there janet and you can see them but they will be in there overnight
Jan: thank you doctor
Jermaine: thank you doctor
Doctor Ed: your so welcome do you guys need anything
Jermaine: can we get a pitcher of water
Doctor Ed: of course
He leaves the room
Jermaine: you okay love
Jan: yeah baby can you get in bed with me
Jermaine: of course love *he gets in bed with her pulling the blankets up on them he reaches over grabbing his laptop turning it on putting it on the table so they can watch a movie*
Jan: thank you baby *she cuddles up to him* baby I know this isn't how you wanted to spend your birthday *she looks at him*
Jermaine: *he looks at her* god gave me two of the best gifts today so I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than in this hospital bed with you knowing we just welcomed two more precious gifts into this world with the love of my life the only thing that would make this even more special is if our babies were here but I know they will be excited to see us when we get home and we're bringing their brother and sister home *he smiles* I'm so proud of you baby you did amazing today
Jan: thank you baby *she kisses him*
Just then doctor Ed comes back with their water pitcher and cups
Jermaine: thank you
Doctor Ed: your welcome if you guys need anything else just push the button
Jan: thank you
He leaves
Janet gets comfortable in the bed as Jermaine holds her in his arms as they turn on a movie
(Time skip 8pm)
Jermaine and Janet are in the icu to see the twins
Doctor Ed: Janet Jermaine would you guys like hold your babies
Jan: yes
Jermaine: yes
The nurse careful takes them out and hands one to Janet and the other to Jermaine
Doctor Ed: they have feeding tubes in so they can still eat
Janet tries not to cry
Jermaine tries not to cry looking at their babies
Jan: their so small
Doctor Ed: yeah they are but with this feeding tube they will grow and when they get up in weight you guys will be able to take them home
Jan: so we won't be able to take them home with us when I leave the hospital *she looks at him*
Doctor Ed: it depends I want them to at least gain a pound before they leave
Jermaine: okay
Janet and Jermaine spend over three hours in the icu with their babies
It's now 11pm and janet and Jermaine have just gotten back to their room doctor Ed lefts extra blankets for them
Jermaine gets in bed with janet
Jermaine: you okay baby
Jan: yeah I'm glad we were able to hold our babies
Jermaine: yeah me to baby you tried love
Jan: yeah I am baby
Jermaine: you ready to get some sleep
Jan: can we watch a show for a bit baby
Jermaine: sure love of course
He turns on a show for them as he pulls her to him kissing her head
Jermaine: I love you
Jan: I love you to baby
They lay back on the pillow
Jermaine and Janet spend two hours watching their show
It's now 1am
Jermaine looks over and sees janet asleep he turns off his laptop closing it and cuddles his baby kissing her head he relaxes
After 30 mins he falls asleep holding her
