"Jett, I-I need to tell you something."
She let out a few more sniffles, wiping her nose on the zombie's shirt without a care in the world, and looked up shyly at the zombie. She hope that Zed didn't notice the massively disgusting mess she was leaving on his shirt.
Zed tried not to think about the wet spot on his chest as he looked down at the human in his arms so comfortably.
"Yeah?"
"Listen, Josie. I just... I've been thinking lately." Zed swallowed and Josephine's eyes widened, almost eager, as the grip around her tightened sweetly. "I-I really, uh, have this well... thing where uh... you..."
"Me?"
"Yes, you! And me." He nodded quickly, licking his lips, both hearts beating quickly. The words were not working for him and seem to tumble out as awkward as a newborn gazelle. His eyes squeezed shut and a huff of air left his nose. "Fuck it."
"Zed, what-mm!"
Lips.
Cold lips on her warm ones pressing so perfectly firm against her with a warm embrace melding the two into one in a moment she had only dreamed of before. Zed was the perfect cup of tea with just the right amount of sugar and spice to leave her wanting for more, because only one sip, one cup, wouldn't be near enough to keep her satisfied because it was perfect.
The eternity-longed kiss passed - and Josephine wanted it to truly be an eternity - and Zed rested his forehead onto hers, Josephine looking into the eyes of a grinning zombie with her own hopeful smile on her lips.
"Jett, I-."
"Josie."
"Sorry." Josephine shook her head, not hearing what Zed had just said. Her heart started to race as she desperately clung onto the zombie. "What did you say?"
Zed only smiled patiently with a light chuckle. "Jett, I lo-."
"Jett, wake up you dumb bitch!"
Jett shot out of bed with wide eyes and a heaving chest, eyes darting around the room to find the cruel destroyer of dreams known as Wyatt at the foot of her bed with a knowing smirk.
"And what were you dreaming about, poodle?"
"Oh go jerk yourself off." Josephine snapped and flipping the wolf the bird. She pushed her hair out of her face and sloppily slapped the cactus alarm clock on her desktop to look at the time. "It's fucking... 7 in the morning on a Saturday?! Do you desire death, dog breath?"
"Yeah yeah, threats, threats, and more threats." Wyatt rolled his eyes and clapped his hand dramatically, dodging the pillow to the face and walking over to the girl's desk and grabbing a photo strip of the two of them from the mall. "Should I worry that one day you might snap and actually follow through with them?"
"Yeah. After the past few weeks, you should be very worried about me." Josephine grumbled out, still annoyed that the dream was just that... a dream. Most of that did happen from the Mac n' Cheese, to Alan's pop up and insults, all the way to the weird fucker biting her... the only difference was Zed never held her back, in fact... he didn't talk to her at all.
Instead when she went for Alan's throat, she was stopped by Alan.
Alan had stepped out of her was so fast she didn't even see him behind her as she stumbled forward. The alien used his hands to push her onto her knees and dumped her Mac n' Cheese onto her head.
