"I admit it was not my best of calls."
"You think?!" Josephine snapped at Aspen, glaring over at Ali from beside Zed. "Also, she gets released and I don't?!"
"This is my job." Ali replied snootily, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "It is a highly delicate, complex piece of machinery-"
"Oh so it's fragile."
"Finally, something went through that thick sk—"
"Why'd they put you in charge of it?"
"Okay, I have a strong desire to hang you by the—!" Ali stopped herself, closing her eyes and slamming her lips together in a hum, while moving around spheres rather aggressively. "Harmony. Peace and harmony. Harmony and peace."
"You seem angry." Zed snorted as he examined the controls and sent a secret wink to Josephine, who scoffed in unison with the hostile alien.
"I am not angry, I am just in harmony in a super hostile way." She faked a laugh, looking over at her commander and hissing quietly but not subtly. "I need to get off this planet."
"Please do." Josephine smiled fakely as her, Zed, and Addison went up to her control panel, her hands still behind her back. Adrian swooped in beside her, looking over at Alan next to him with a large smile. "It would be quite joyful." She mocked their speech pattern, finding joy in the dirty look sent her way.
"We need your help. " Aspen took over the conversation, giving Ali a look. "But first, there is something I must address."
The best part of her night happened to be the most hilarious part, watching Aspen break up with Zed and Zed try to figure out when he got into a relationship in the first place. The panic turned acceptance when he realized he was getting no where and the glance that she could only describe as reassuring sent down to her even though she had said nothing.
Or the look Ali gave Josephine when her and Zed spoke in unison.
"Have you tried banging it?"
And both her and Zed shared a smirk at the common idea, not even listening to Ali's rant about how complex and nerdy the thing was. Josephine's eyebrows suggestively danced up and down and her and the zombie simultaneously kicked and smacked the console before them - much to Ali's chagrin.
The alien was obviously more annoyed that it worked, but seemed to accept it for what it was as a woman with strangely familiar white hair seemed to appear from no where. Jett stared wide eyed at the technology, moving to the side of the 2-dimensional display in awe while everyone else seemed to stare at the message.
Was she the only one who didn't think this was normal?
...judging by the weird look from Zed, Jett hurried to stand still just in time for the realization to crash down upon all the creatures in the room. But... there was something bothering her. And it wasn't the red head or green haired zombie this time.
"You know, I can totally get behind Addison being an alien and all." Josephine interrupted the hype with a frown, sending a side eye to the distanced Alan and shook her arms to get everyone's attention. "She's always been a special kind of weird. But what I can't get behind is why am I still locked up!?"
"For kinky time later." Adrian supplied helpfully from his spot, having moved away from the console and now sitting on top of a railing with a wide grin. "Don't worry you guys can thank me— oof!"
Josephine calmly walked back to the console after having kicked Adrian onto his back, Alan gracefully took a step away to put some distance between him and her. She smirked darkly to herself and Zed gave a her a pat on the back.
"Right, my apologies." Aspen said sincerely, typing away and released Josephine from her invisible shackles. With a sigh the human rubbed her wrists and twisted them around. "Jett, what we have done to you I now realize was improper and rude. I hope you accept our gift as forgiveness."
Josephine rose an eyebrow at the leader, trying to figure out what they were talking about and unconsciously she looked over at Alan who looked down at her arm. "This? This is your gift?" She asked incredulously, showing off the circle and rolling her eyes.
Alan provided a smirk, weaker than normal, before snapping and the metal dissolved away leaving nothing but a freckle like dot in its place. Blinking, the human girl poked at her arm to try and prove to herself that she wasn't crazy.
"Think of it as a promise." Aspen said as Alan waved a piece of tech and looked over at their commander. "You are now unable... to be controlled by Stardust as this metal prevents the use of Stardust skills on the user."
"...oh." Josephine responded quietly, furrowing her eyebrows in thought. Carefully, her hands were picked up by Alan who imitated his cocky looks, but she could see the difference in his eyes. The remorse, the pain, all of the emotions she knew the alien wished he could get rid of once more. Perhaps forever this time.
"I have hurt you when I should not have done so and for that I have been unable to sleep for many nights." Alan said carefully, ignoring the look of warning from the zombie as he took a step closer to the human girl. "You were nothing but kind to me and I took that for granted."
Josephine cleared her throat, waving it away as if his words were smoke clouding around her. "F-forget about it. Just... don't do it again?"
Alan's eyebrows pinched together and his head tilted to the right. "Did I not explain that I am unable to do so? Because I can explain-"
"Dude." Josephine interrupted with a shake of her head. "Seriously?"
"Ah... right." Alan rubbed the back of his neck in an almost human way that had Josephine softening.
"Eerrrr." Zed interrupted by bringing the girl back to the main conversation with his hands on her shoulders. "So, this is great... I think we should go."
"But Zed-" Josephine tried to argue and looked at the deject Addison staring lost at the disk in her hand. "...right."
And... they left.
