"You are seriously an idiot, Zed."

"A brain cell away from being certified."

"You must have a collection of dunce hats in your closet."

"Your face is literally the photo of idiot in the diction-"

"Alright, alright I get it." Zed snapped at his friends with a roll of his eyes. It was Monday morning and Josephine was no where to be found. The last time he had seen her face was on an instagram post and the last time he had been near her was at the party. "I know I'm terrible, thanks for the reminder!"

Where he finished the night with someone who wasn't Josephine.

Now he had Ben and Zion grilling him harshly in between blocks. They had both witnessed the wide receiver leaving the party pitifully after getting a front row seat to the movie staring Zed Necrodopolis and Leslie Michael's sister.

"You're playing with her feelings, Zed!" Ben poked his finger in the zombie's chest to emphasize his words and frowned. "You're a great quarterback, but you're acting like a really shitty person, er, zombie?" The human looked questioningly at Zion who nodded in confirmation. "Yeah, shitty zombie."

"If you want to be a walking stereotype and go around fucking girls, go ahead." Zion jumped in, closing his locker door and looking at his fellow zombie seriously. '"But Jett? That's one girl you can't fuck with. We respect you as our team captain, but we're not afraid to beat the shit out of you."

Zed groaned, knowing they were right. "Seriously, I know... I can't help it! I-I like her, but I'm afraid of hurting her."

"You're already hurting her, Zed."

That was the last thing said before the three went off to their respective third blocks. Zed's brain was racing at the conversation, knowing his teammates were right about Josephine.

Honestly, he wouldn't mind getting the shit kicked out of him.

With his head in the sky, Zed knocked into someone and grabbed them bi the biceps before they could fall backwards. "O-oh, shit. I'm so sorry!"

Josephine looked up at the zombie with wide eyes, her mind instantly pulling back to her dream from this morning. Strong hands on her, filling her thoughts with him and only him as he left trails of fire from cold touches. She quickly free herself and stared a the zombie.

"Jett?" Zed asked in concern, taking a step forward to see if she was okay.

"What's his name?"

"H-his name is Jeremy!" Josephine blurted out before covering her mouth. Both teens blinked at each other and Josephine felt mortification rush through every cell of her body. "I-I..." She tried to stutter out an excuse, but couldn't find one.

Suddenly, Josephine felt angry.

"Fuck you!"

She turned around and headed into the classroom, leaving a wide eyed, really confused zombie staring at the space she had previous occupied.

Bonzo came up behind his firmed and gave him a comforting smack on the back, shaking Zed out of his confusion. "Zaggly doig zig zig gorga?"

"I don't know." Zed responded slowly his arm going down at the same speed. His eyes narrowed in deep thought before nodded to himself. "But I feel like I deserved it."

"Dag."

It was a bittersweet feeling knowing that this was the seniors' last official week of practice for the season. Adrian was pretending to cry in the locker room on his boyfriend's shoulder who awkwardly patted him on the back.
