A week later I was unlocking the door to Martin's house and once the door was open Ace went running in which didn't shock me anymore. I grabbed the paper and mail and headed inside. Once I got inside Ace came barreling up to me whimpering.
"What's wrong buddy, is he still in bed?" I asked and he started barking at me and ran into the living room. I sat everything down.
"Martin..." I said walking into the sitting room seeing him in his recliner with the tv on. I knew I was here a few days ago since I came every other day and he was fine. I walked over to him and he looked to be sleeping. "Martin..." I said and touched him but he felt cold and stiff. My eyes instantly filled with tears. Everything after that seemed robotic to me and like I was outside of my own body. I called the paramedics to come and verify he had passed away. They had no family, I was the closest thing so everything was left to me to plan, which I knew it would be. I just sat on the porch with my head in my hands crying when I felt arms wrap around me and I looked to see Jake.
"Hey, I don't remember calling you." I said and he sighed.
"You did by accident. You called when you were talking to the paramedics about Martin. I knew I had to get here. I didn't want you alone." Jake said and I sighed. I saw Pooch driving away in the van. Jake just held me as I broke down crying.
"He died alone. I was here 2 days ago and he was fine. He was alone when he went." I sobbed.
"He wanted to be alone Shaney, you know that. He is with his wife now." Jake said and I nodded. After a few more minutes the paramedics gave me all the info I would need to claim his body for the funeral home and everything. I went into the house and grabbed the folder from the office that Martin told me about a thousand times. Funeral arrangements and then the transfer of assets to me. I gave Jake my keys, grabbed Ace who didn't want to leave and we left after I locked up the house. Once we got home everyone looked at me and Clay rushed to hug me.
"He was like a grandfather to me." I said after a long time of silence once I sat down I the living room.
"Shane, can I get you anything? Tea, coffee something to eat?" Aisha asked and I shook my head.
"I need to go call the funeral home and the lawyers." I said standing up and got upstairs to my room.

*****JAKE POV*****
After some time of Shane going upstairs to make the calls she needed to, I went up to check on her I found her laying in bed crying wearing a shirt of mine for comfort. I just got in bed behind her and held her. She turned to bury her face in my chest and she just cried. I knew she had lost someone like family to her and she hated herself for it.
"Thank you for being here Jake." Shane sobbed and I kissed the top of her head.
"Nowhere else I would be." I said.
"When I thought dad died, I went to Martin. I thought I was alone. I aways had Martin. Now I always have you." Shane said and I sighed.
"You always will Shaney. Go ahead and get some sleep." I said and he nodded.

*****NORMAL POV*****
It had been a few days since the funeral was held and I was sitting in my room on my computer when Aisha came walking in.
"Hey, you okay?" Aisha asked and I nodded.
"Yeah sorry, I don't mean to go missing. I'm just trying to find another job." I said and she nodded.
"Well everyone wanted me to come check on you saying and I quote "Aisha, you're a girl, you know how emotions work." End quote." She said and I groaned shaking my head.
"Idiots, a house full of male idiots." I said and she nodded.
"Either way you look at it I did want to make sure you were okay. I know things haven't been that easy for you." Aisha said and I half smiled.
"As well as bring the me that bottle of whiskey you have behind your back." I said and she smiled.
"Well that or we can ditch job hunting, watch a cheesy chick flick and drink?" Aisha suggested and I closed my laptop.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea." I said and she laughed getting on the bed as we leaned against the headboard and turned on my tv.

A couple hours later Aisha and I stumbled down the stairs laughing and drunk. I went to where Jake was sitting on the couch and plopped down on his lap and he grunted, she did the same to Clay.
"We're hungry." I said to Jake and kissed him.
"And drunk..." Jake said.
"Shhhh don't let my dad know." I whispered. I looked at Aisha and we started laughing.
"I don't think I have ever seen her drunk before." Clay said pointing at me.
"You told!" I said and hit Jake's chest.
"No sweetie, you did that on your own." Jake said and I laughed.
"We want tacos!" Aisha whined and I nodded in agreement.
"Okay why don't you girls go back upstairs and lay down and I will get tacos." Clay said and I nodded. Aisha and I ran back upstairs. Aisha and I got back in bed and turned on another movie.
"Do you want to know a secret?" I asked after about 20 minutes into the movie.
"Always..." She said.
"I think I love Jake." I said and she smiled at me.
"I think I love Clay." Aisha said and I smiled at her.
Little did I know Jake and Clay were outside the bedroom door and heard the whole thing.
