Lindsey caught up with a very angry looking Stevie just outside the restaurant. She must have realized that she had no other way home and stopped. She kept her lips sealed, when he tried talking to her, apologizing about twenty times in a minute. Avoiding any eye contact, she only reacted, when he turned to go towards his car. She sat in the passenger's seat, arms crossed, her head turned away from him.

"Stevie, come on. Say something." Lindsey begged once he pulled into her driveway and the car came to a stop. "I can't leave you all pissed off like this."

"And whose fault is that, hm?" Stevie finally spoke up, narrowing her eyes at him, she then opened the door and climbed out.

Lindsey did too and quickly walked around the front of the car to get to her. "Baby, please, I-"

"Don't you fucking baby me." Stevie spun around and jabbed a finger into his chest. "I am pissed off and you are going to leave me the hell alone."

"I'll fix this, I swear!" Lindsey promised, laying a hand over his heart as she began walking towards the front door of her house. "I love you!"

He didn't actually expect her to respond to that. Lindsey remained standing in the same spot for a moment, staring at the now closed door, Stevie on the other side. How could he have screwed up so badly? What was he thinking?

Lindsey jumped back in behind the wheel and sped off out of Stevie's driveway. He returned home in no time and as soon as he stepped through the door, he began shouting Carol Ann's name. He checked one room after another until he finally located her in his studio out of all places.

"What the hell are you doing in here?" Lindsey frowned as he watched her helping herself to his stash.

"Oh, uh. You're back." Carol Ann smiled sheepishly, putting down the joint she hadn't yet finished rolling. "I'm sorry. I went to bed, but I couldn't sleep, so-"

"That's not yours." Lindsey shook his head, his breathing heavy as he approached her.

"So, how was your date?" Carol Ann tried changing the subject, but Lindsey grabbed her by the arm and pulled her up to her feet. "Hey!"

"You're leaving." He simply said, marching towards the door, dragging her with him.

"Would you let go of me!" Carol Ann yelled out, twisting her arm out of his grasp. "I'm not your girlfriend anymore, you can't treat me this way."

"No, you're absolutely right." Lindsey nodded. "You're not, so you have no reason to be still living here."

"What..." Her expression instantly softened. "But I have nowhere to go, Lindsey."

"You've had weeks to find yourself a place." Lindsey shrugged her hand off his shoulder, when she tried to place it there. "This was a stupid idea from the start."

"Let me stay, please." Her hands were now on his neck, he pulled back. "Just for a little while longer. I don't really have any money-"

"I said, no." Lindsey repeated.

"What can I do to convince you? Tell me, I'll do anything." She forced a smile and her hand was on his belt buckle. "You came home mad, clearly you're date didn't go so well. Let me-"

"Are you insane?" Lindsey pushed her, causing her to stumble. "What makes you think I want anything from you? Just get the fuck out of where and forget about me!"

Carol Ann realized, she was left with no choice, so she dropped the act and called Lindsey several names on her way out. Alone, Lindsey exhaled heavily and slumped down on the leather couch. He reached for the unfinished joint. One problem at a time. Stevie wouldn't talk to him now anyway.
