Lindsey lay on his side, following Stevie with his eyes as she moved around the bedroom. She was running late, which was nothing new, so she was trying to do several things at once and it wasn't going so well.

"Maybe you should stay home instead." Lindsey spoke up and Stevie glared at him. "It's just dinner." He shrugged.

"It's a dinner party put together by my producer, Lindsey." Stevie sighed. She had told him, she had to attend, numerous times already. "Jimmy is doing this for me. The whole band, who have been working really hard for the past several months." She added. "I won't come back too late." She promised, approaching him for a reassuring kiss.

Lindsey rolled his eyes, when Stevie announced that the car Jimmy had sent for her had arrived. He walked with her outside and kissed her the way, he was sure, she wouldn't forget for the whole stupid dinner party. She scolded him playfully for ruining her lipstick, pecked him once more and got into the backseat of the limo.

Left alone, Lindsey knew that he wouldn't be able to stop thinking about Stevie, who she was going to spend her evening with, what she might do. They'd been doing really well for the past three months or so. He shouldn't start doubting her now. Not again. The only thing that could take his mind off it was locking himself up in his studio. When they decided to move in together just before Christmas, his beloved studio was Lindsey's strongest argument why Stevie should be the one moving into his house. He expected yet another fight, but she only took about a day to agree, saying, she wasn't that attached to her place, she barely spent any time there.

Stevie's solo album gave Lindsey a push to start thinking about doing the same. He was a guitar player first, but the years spent in Fleetwood Mac had greatly helped his songwriting, so he too had a lot of stuff unused. It wouldn't even fit the band's sound anyway, he thought one night after a couple of joints.

The time seemed to always disappear once Lindsey started messing around with melodies and lyrics. The thought of Jimmy trying to put his disgusting hands on Stevie didn't even cross his mind until he stopped to think about that. He shunned it away and poured himself a drink.

Two, three, fours hours passed and Lindsey was about to call it a night as he yawned, stretching in his seat. As he was putting things away for the time being, the door opened and in came Stevie. She didn't appear to be drunk or high, maybe a little tipsy.

With a raised eyebrow, Lindsey closed the short distance between them. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I wasn't expecting you back so soon. That's all." Lindsey shrugged, cupping her face in his palms, he pressed a kiss to her lips.

"I told you, I won't be late, didn't I?" Stevie smiled, wrapping her arms around his middle. "Turns out, I'd rather go to bed at a reasonable hour with you now than pass out alone in the early hours of the morning."

"Oh?" That made him grin and kiss her again. "Well, then..." He turned her around and hugged her around the shoulders as they walked out of his studio and went to their bedroom.
