Chapter 9 : Father to Son

Shadow's POV

After school, we walked out the entrance and walked to the sidewalk where we part ways to our homes.

"So where do I meet you Amy?"

"Meet me at the pizzeria at 1431 Emerald Blvd. tomorrow at 5:00pm."

"Okay then I'll see you there."

Then without hesitation I hugged Amy who was surprised at first but she smiled sweetly and hugged me back. I'm glad to have such a wonderful friend like Amy. She's much different than the other jerks and likes me for who I am. I don't know why that blue hedgehog broke her heart. She's just trying to show her true feelings to you but he just looked the other way. Him and Amy's other friends aren't really good friends at all. They just abandoned her just because she's hanging out with me. Amy may look happy in the outside but in the inside I can feel she's lonely and heartbrokened. I have to put her heart back together and make her feel happy as possible. After a couple of minutes we pulled away from the hug.

"Alright bye Shadow see you at Saturday."

"Okay bye Amy."

We waved goodbye and gone our separate ways to our homes. I wished I could stay with her a little longer but I might be late and my father will punish me again.

10 minutes later

I made it back to my house and I used key to open the door to see my father watching television sitting on the couch and smoking on a cigarette. I closed the door and locked it.

"Hi father."

My father didn't say hi back. He just ignored me probably still angry at me since the moment I had been beaten by the spiked whip. I shivered remembering that painful moment. Well anyway...time to ask him the you know what. I walked closer to dad enough to smell the smoke from the cigarette. Does he even know that smoking those things can give you cancer? Hadn't he been having watching those commercials about it? And why am I even caring about dad? He never cares about me at all or even loves as his son. More like I'm his slave or something. I wish that my does have cancer from smoking and go to hell.

"Hey umm dad can I go out tomorrow at 5:00?"

He then he turned his head to me with those cold-hearted eyes of his which gives me shivers every time I look at them.

"And where exactly do even want to go?"

"To the pizzeria at 1431 Emerald blvd."

"What's the point of you even going anywhere? You don't have anyone to hang out with and everyone hates you since you're so worthless."

What he said made me remember what my life was before I became friends with Amy which made my ears lowered feeling sad and a little angry that he would say that which wasn't that surprising.

"Actually, I have one person that I can gang out with and trust."

"You actually have a friend? And who might that be?"

"Her name is Amy Rose and she goes to the same school as me and she's in all my classes. She doesn't hate me like the other kids do and she respects me for who I am. And she was there for me when I become depressed. And she's been hated by everyone in school as well and it's all because she hangs out with me now and she had been heartbrokened by a guy she loved and I want to make her heart be put back together again so she can forget about her sadness and always be happy. So that's why I wanted to hang out with her. So can I father?"

My father just stared at me in my eyes not answering as there's been an awkward silence.

"Alright fine you can go but you have to be home till sunset ."

"Really you actually mean it?! Thank you so much!"

Then I hugged my sorry excuse of my father being the happiest I've ever been who I'd shock and of course didn't hug back...the jerk.

"Let go of me before I change my mind!"

I immediately pulled away from me hugging my father of all people.

"Sorry dad and I'll to be back from me hanging out with Amy by sunset."

"Good now go away from my face."

I did what I was told by going upstairs to my room couldn't help but firming a smile. I actually can't believe that my father agreed of me hanging out with someone. I opened the door to my bedroom putting my backpack on the floor and took off my clothing revealing the bandages Amy tended back at school. It made me remember back at the clinic before he put the bandages on me I told her that my father whipped me and that she was there to comfort me when I broke down in tears. Remembering that moment made me smile and made me feel I wasn't so worthless. I unwrapped my bandages to reveal the cuts and bruises which are beginning to heal a little bit. I went to the top shelf of my drawer and opened to get healing cream. I closed the drawer and began to rub some healing cream on the wounds. Then I rewrapped the bandages on the wounds and go to my mirror to see I don't look that bad. I went back downstairs to see you dad sleeping on his chair leaving the TV on. Well I guess that means that I have to make my own food to eat today. I turned off the TV and went to the kitchen to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and walked to the dining table to eat it. After that I went back upstairs to my room and sat on my bed getting the remote to turn on the TV to watch Full Metal Alchemist for the rest of the day. I can't wait till I would hang out with Amy tomorrow.

I have a lot of stuff coming up before summer vacation like I'll have my first communion, I'm going to a field trip to Disney world and Universal, and I have to go to a prom which I am forced to go to. I don't why my mom even wants me to go since all I'm gonna do is sit down and eat a lot of food. Anyways...
