Chapter 20 : Apologies

Amy's POV

The others and I went back to the waiting room watching the Disney movie Descendants which is on the part when Mal was singing at the statue of her mother about her being good or evil. I love this movie SO much and it is like a bunch of Disney movies combined into one awesome one. The only one who loves this movie besides me is Rouge while the boys are looking bored watching it. Men...they just don't see how beautiful this movie is, teaching you about you can be whoever you want to be and cannot let them force you to be like them and hate certain people like dogs and handsome princes. I guess that's how men acts. After 30 minutes of waiting for Sonic's family to finish up their visit with him, we saw them walking towards us with the nurse.

"You guys are done with Sonic now?"

"Yep, sorry that we took so long."

"It's fine,you guys could take as long as you need to since we know that you guys are very worried about your son."

"You're all so kind. And can we ask you a favor?"

"Sure Mr and Mrs Hedgehog anything."

"Can you guys babysit Sonia and Manic everyday after school till Sonic recovers? Sonic usually is the one that takes care of them while me and my husband are at work. You don't have to accept since we know that you have studies for school to attend to."

"We'd love to you guys. That will give us chances to know the!m better and be good friends to them."

"Great,thanks you guys."

"You're welcome Mr. and Mrs Hedgehog."

"Please just call me Aleena."

"And call me Jules."

"Okay...Aleena and Jules."

We all smiled at each other then suddenly Sonia gently holds my hand with a cute sweet smile on her face which made my heart warm. I've known Sonia and her younger brother for thier whole lives and I always like to visit them or even help Sonic babysit them when they were adorable babies which always made me used to imagine having my own son and daughter with Sonic. But now that imagination would never come true...but I now can dream having children with Shadow since I'm in...love with him.

"I am happy that you and your friends can babysit us to spend somwt time together Amy."

"I'm happy too Sonia, we're going to have so much together by doing each other's makeovers and stuff."

"Can not wait."

Then Jules picked up Sonia who wrapped her arms around his neck and nuzzled into it which was SO CUTE to see.

"Sonia, Manic, it's time to say goodbye to your brother's friend."

"Alright bye dudes and dudettes."

"Bye you guys."

"See ya."

We watched as the Hedgehog family walked out of the hospital as the nurse walked towards us.

"Alright boys and girls follow me to the room where your blue friend is."

"Right."

The rabbit lead us to Sonic's room which was the 3rd door from across the hallway on the third floor.

"Okay here we are everyone. If anything happens just come straight to me I will be next to the room."

"Alright thanks ma'am."

"You're welcome. You guys can go inside now."

I quietly opened the door to see Sonic sitting up in bed watching the television. When Sonic noticed us ar the door, he formed his famous trademark smile to us.

"Sup you guys glad to see that you're safe and sound."

"Hi Sonic. You're starting to feel better?"

"Yeah just a little but I can barely move my body."

I then noticed a depressed look on his face.

"Sonic you okay?"

"Not really Tails."

"What's wrong?"

"It's just that...I have no other choice but to be stuck in this hospital for a month till I get better. Eggman might strike back again and try to hurt you guys and my family without me being there to protect everyone. I feel so useless and pitiful now."

All of us walked to Sonic's side to try to comfort him.

"Don't be so hard on yourself you're totally not useless. Sure your arm and leg is broken but you still can be useful by bringing people's hopes up and be positive for them. And don't worry about us we're as tough as you are and we'll protect your family with our lives."

"You're right thanks Shadow."

"No problem Sonic."

Sonic smiled but it suddenly fade away and looks guilty as he stares at his legs that is under the blanket.

"Amy?"

"Yes Sonic?"

"I'm...SO sorry for yelling those horrible things to you that day hurting you emotionally inside you and for not being by your side when people started hating you. When I realized what have I done to our friendship, I felt like a major dumb ass and the worst friend that anyone could even imagine. I was way too scared and worried to apologize to you since I used to think that you're suffering would become worst. If it wasn't from being a jerk then you wouldn't have attempted suicide. And I'm not joking I'm telling the truth...and if you still won't forgive me, I won't blame you. You've been through a lot of tough times that you can't forgive and trust anyone at all. And I would promise that I won't bother you ever again and will let you to get even better friends like Shadow and much more out there."

I was shocked when I heard his honest words come out of his mouth. He definitely doesn't sound like he was lying. He actually meant it when Sonic told Shadow to promise that he'll always be my friend and would always protect me. I actually felt like my heart is working again like I've been brought back to life or something...the feeling is hard to describe. Then suddenly I felt a hand gently touched my shoulder. I turned around to see that it was Rouge.

"We're sorry too Amy. All of us are."

"Yeah we felt really guilty when we seen the mistake we made when we abandoned you when you needed us the most."

"It was totally stupid of us to take the opposing side just because we acted selfish and we didn't want to feel the pain that you're suffering."

I was even more surprised that Rouge, Knuckles, and Tails was sorry as well. I smiled sweetly at them and Sonic.

"Yes...I do forgive you guys. It was really sweet of you guys to help Shadow rescue me and saying that. Thank you all so much."

"No problem Amy."

"You're welcome Ames."

Then Shadow walked up to me blushing a crimson red shyly looking at the floor...was he having a fever...or is it...something else.

"A-amy...m-may I talk t-to in p-private."

"Sure Shadow. Please excuse us you guys."

Then Shadow and I walked out of the hospital room...and I could've sworn I saw Rouge have that excited look on her face...
