War On Willy

Chapter 14: Moonlit Monolith.

Dan looked at the castle an uneasy feeling washing over her, they had no idea what could be hiding in that castle, what type of weapons he could have hidden in the giant monolith.

"Oh I can't wait to see the look on Willy's face when we beat him." Hawkins would say with a smile the others nodding in agreement.

"I'll make him pay for the things he's done, this monster deserves a slow and painful death." Vee would say a vengeful look in his eyes.

"I agree." Dan would say nodding her head. As the others spoke about what they would like to do to Willy Dan thought, what's gonna happen after they defeat Willy? She sat legs crossed and hands burried in the sand, moving them around as she thought.

She wanted to defeat Willy and fix the mess he had created, but apart of her didn't want this adventure to end, she feared that once it ended everyone would split up and go on with their lives; leaving her behind.

"Whatcha frowning about Dan?" Vee asked as he laid in front of her hands, looking at them.

"Oh I was just thinking about what we should do to get past the guards." She would lie, lifting her hands out of the sand dusting the sand off and began to pet his head, messing with his hair.

"Mmmm how did you know I wanted to be pet?" He'd ask closing his eyes with a slight smile.

"I could just tell." She'd laugh lightly

Dan walked away from Vee and onto a small hill, she scanned the area around the buildings. It was high security, but something was off. The gates were wide open, and there weren't any guards at the front or anywhere around. It was like he was inviting them inside.

"So this is either a trap or he's letting us in."

"I say we go in, when he least expects it."

"Then we'll break in at night, get some rest and prepare."

The plan was simple, take out the power and take the tower one floor at a time. The group rested up, Vee taking a nice nap on Hawkin's lap. They were ready for the worst, or the best. Night finally came, and the group started toward the building. But they had to be safe, they were going to have Vee scan the area from overhead. He unsheathed and quickly shot into the sky, staying there for a few moments before teleporting back down; no slash, limping a bit after.

"There's nobody outside, I'm heading in."

They'd all follow him inside, but it wasn't this easy... right?

Dan was silent as she looked around, her her foot steps didn't make the slightest noise. She was paranoid it couldn't be this easy, it had to be a trap. Any tiny noise would make her flinch and look around wide eyed.

"It's quiet, too quiet." Jaxton would whisper as him and Carter looked around, his spear in hand.

"Let's go in." Dan would breathe as she walked through the door and into the castle. There weren't any guards so far, but when they got closer to the spiral stairs they were attacked by guards.

Dan quickly extended her spear and quickly dodged an axe swung at her head and spun on her feet around the guard, she took her spear and sliced the guards throat, so deeply that he was almost decapitated.

She let the body fall to the floor, blood spraying from his neck, some was splattered across Dan's face. A guard grabbed Dan and went to cut her down with the axe, luckily she was able to slash his arm causing him to lose grip of his axe slightly, only grazing her shoulder.  Dan used the back of her spear and hit the guard in the stomach causing him to gasp and move backwards stumbling into another guard who was attacking Carter.
