Fulvus awoke earlier than Clint and strode from the room, his eyes darting around. His neck felt no better but he knew that Clint probably wanted him to have someone look at it and all he wanted to do was train. The best way to do that was to beat Clint to the training area.
He pushed himself from the room and strode down a few halls toward the stairs. He suddenly heard the familiar name that still made his heart thump in his chest.
"Mirrow!"
Fulvus picked up the pace, hoping that he'd maybe spot her and see who was calling her. Perhaps it had been her companion like Todd had explained the other night.
"Mirrow!"
Fulvus turned a sharp corner and shock exploded through him as he nearly plowed over Mirrow. She drew back a bit in surprise as well, her ears plastered against her head. "Oh!"
Fulvus gulped as he took a step back, sitting down a bit. "Oh I um er," he couldn't think of anything to say so just gibberish rambled out.
Mirrow was about to say something when Fulvus saw a women appear behind her. "Mirrow, there you are. Come on girl!"
Mirrow took a step back and looked at Fulvus. Fulvus wanted to say something but he couldn't make anything come out. Mirrow looked over to her companion and turned before she surged forward toward her. Fulvus watched her, longing to follow her but she couldn't.
"Fulvus!"
Fulvus turned his head and saw Clint waiting for him in his training outfit. He wanted to follow Mirrow but his loyalties were still to Clint. He bounded over to Clint and lowered his head in shame. "I'm sorry I left early. I er needed some air," he lied as he cast a longing glance over his shoulder.
Clint saw Mirrow with her companion and smiled a bit. "It's okay," assured Clint before he motioned toward the stairs. "Now before we train I want someone to look at your neck."
Normally Fulvus would argue but he just nodded. "Okay." He followed Clint, Mirrow fixated in his thoughts. The way that her beautiful fur landed when she walked or the way her eyes fixated on his. He swore that their eyes met but he couldn't be sure. He was looking into her eyes but he wasn't sure if she was looking into his.
"Are you okay, you're staring into nothing," commented Clint as he looked over his shoulder to where Fulvus had lagged behind and stared into nothingness.
Fulvus picked up the pace and darted forward. "Fine, perfectly fine. Just in a bit of pain," he replied which was half true. He was in a lot of pain but Mirrow was more important.
They made it to the medical wing and they took them rather quickly Fulvus allowed Clint to come in since he was sure he'd forget whatever they'd say.
They took them to a room and Fulvus leaped on an examination table and allowed the lady to run her fingers through Fulvus's flank. She hated the fact that she was touching him but Fulvus allowed her to continue. When she got to his neck he cringed and struggled not to snap her beak in the vet's direction.
"That's a deep wound. I don't see bone but it was sure close," pointed out the vet as she turned and grasped a needle. "This shoulder take away the pain."
Fulvus shook his head. "I don't want any painkillers that will make me tired. I'm training later with Clint," he told her as he lowered his head into his shoulders.
The vet smiled timidly. "It's alright. This is very mild, I promise," she assured as she stroked her hand down Fulvus's back. However, Clint was the only one that was allowed to do that. Fulvus growled at her and she took a step back. "Please, just allow me to give you this."
