Meda was thrown backwards, surprise lit in her eyes. She stared right at the creature in front of her. He was extremely large with long talons against her throat. He had large lion paws but he had feathers all over his neck and shoulders. Instead of a muzzle he had a beak that was an inch from her face.

Natasha took a gun from her holster and pointed it at the creature's head. The creature didn't even flinch as a man leaped out and aimed an arrow for her.

"You pull that trigger I will put and arrow through your head," warned the man with narrowed eyes. Meda knew that he must be with the creature.

"Then get that freak off of Meda," snapped Natasha as she glared back at the man, preparing to pull the trigger.

The man looked over to the creature and uttered something. "Fulvus, off."

Fulvus growled and drew back while Meda fell, gasping for breath. He drew over to the man, who still had his arrow drawn. Fulvus stood with his hackles rising and a growl still rolling in his throat.

"What the heck do you want," snapped Natasha as she pointed her gun at Fulvus's chest. Fulvus didn't look afraid at all and Meda admired him for that.

"We're here to stop you from doing anything else against moral code, like killing our agents," snapped the man as he released his arrow an inch from Natasha's hand. Natasha placed her gun away and sighed heavily.

She shook her head. "It's my mission."

"And our mission is to exterminate you two," the man shot back with eyes narrowed so slits. He looked down to Fulvus who seemed to be itching for a fight. "Give us one reason why we shouldn't."

Natasha really didn't have a answer to that question. "This is what we were assigned to do. We do as we're told."

"And so do we," shot back the man in a harsh tone. "Except we do things for good, not for our own selfish benefit."

The more this man spoke the more Meda seemed to agree with him. However, she couldn't just switch sides, especially not with their organization watching them from all angles.

Fulvus turned to look at Meda's paws. Her claws were covered in blood and so were her fangs. "You have killed so many people and for what?"

Meda was a bit taken aback that he could actually talk. So stunned, in fact, that she could barely speak. "It was my job," she finally managed to choke out.

Fulvus lashed his tail. "And my job is to stop you and that's what I plan to do." He showed his talons and Meda could imagine them slicing through every part of her body. She shivered just at the thought of it.

The man raised another arrow and Natasha looked away, as if wishing the inevitable. The man looked to Fulvus and Fulvus lowered down, ready to launch himself at Meda. However, he couldn't bring himself to end a life such as hers. He didn't know why but his paws just wouldn't move.

The man sighed and lowered the arrow. "I can't bring myself to kill without true reason. Besides, you have done some questionable things but you're just like me, an assassin."

Natasha was grateful for this man for not killing her. "I suppose since you spared out lives I owe you our names. I'm Natasha and this is Meda."

Meda puffed out her chest at the mention of her name and she slitted her eyes a bit.

The man took a step backwards. "I'm Clint and this is Fulvus."

Fulvus looked up expectantly and his eyes blazed. "What is Fulvus," inquired Natasha as she struggled to say his name. She knew what it meant since it was Latin but it was still difficult to say.
