"Do you know who you are?" I Am Moana (Song of the Ancestors), Moana

A/n: Haha, I updated Our Secrets, but didn't update this fanfic because I had to go on an inspiration run. But yes, I am back, though with limited updates as I search for inspiration. Also, we are nearing the end of the book! Just a couple more chapters, thank you so much if you stayed, and thank you also for choosing to read this fanfic!

"Wilbur I swear if you start singing Road Trip I will jump out of this car," you gave Wilbur a hard glare, having heard the song way too much when it was first released.

"Fine! Fine, you choose the music then." Wilbur grinned as you went through your phone, searching for the right playlist.

A spontaneous road trip, with no particular destination. It wasn't the best of plans, heck there was barely any planning, but Wilbur was determined to get lost and then find some place he hasn't been before.

You both passed some beaches, rivers, and checked out some galleries and museums. You even managed to dump Wilbur into the freezing cold waters and sprinted away to the car, going inside and locking it.

An angry and pouty Wilbur stared at you from outside the car window. You could hear him and his voice low, talking to you to open the door but you pretended you couldn't, shuffling around and looking inside your bag for something.

The pouty Wilbur sat on the car hood and waited for you to get out or unlock the door. Once you did get out however, his planned playful tackle was canceled by a towel straight to his face.

"Y/n I am so cold!" He complained as he dried himself with the towel you gave him. You smiled before taking your second towel to dry his hair, causing him to lean down towards you to reach.

"It's not my fault- er, well, technically it is, but then again, you shouldn't have been standing so close to the water then!" You teased, removing the towel on his head to see a grumpy face.

"Warm me." And he suddenly tackled you in a hug. You could feel how cold he was and had slight regret, but didn't mind as you hugged back the cold Wilbur, giving him your body heat.

"You know, I could've just gotten you the blanket I packed."

"Yeah but you're comfy." his weak argument convinced you nonetheless, and you shuffled to the passenger seat. Convincing him to get inside as you were taking the wheel this time, he slowly unwrapped his arms and sat on the seat, towels surrounding his body in an attempt to warm himself.

You were alone for once.

No visits from Ghostbur.

No visits from Ranboo.

No visits from Technoblade either.

You were confused and tempted to go outside once again. You haven't in a while since your friends always visited you inside your home.

I should have stayed inside

Was your first thought when you saw Technoblade in a cage, an anvil tied tightly above him, ready to fall and kill him.

The chains rapidly pulled you back, your heart pumping wildly as you so desperately wanted to help. They pulled you back so strongly that they even turned slightly visible for a few seconds.

You should have stayed inside

Maybe then you wouldn't have reminded the green figure hiding within the forest of your existence.

I wish I stayed inside that day

Maybe then you wouldn't have been manipulated and mine controlled by Dream, giving him any building resource he could ever need.

"...U/n?" you could hear the faint voice of Wilbur confused at your state.

You were placed in a glass box, smiles drawn all around you as you blankly stared at the wall. A hopper was right in front of you, going underground to connect to the chest right outside your glass box, the chest reading, "Supplies".

"Wil, who is that?" you heard the voice of a child, also faint.

"T-That's... you know what Tommy, go outside for a moment."

"What- but Wil-"

"Tommy. Go outside."

Silent footsteps and the door shutting, you heard glass breaking and a fuzzy figure in front of you. Gunpowder, leather, that's all you could associate briefly, creating some and dropping them into the dropper.

"Oh... Y-Y/n what did he do to you? I mean, Dream isn't all bad, since he brought me back, but I guess that comes with sacrifices too, yeah? I mean, you and I both know a thing or two about sacrifices..."

At the sound of a familiar voice, your eyes focused for a few seconds on the other person's black eyes before zoning out into your state once more. But he noticed, and grew even more determined to get you back.

"I remember now. When I went to limbo, I realized who you were. All our past memories together."

You sat still, and he continued,

"Y/n, please come back to me too. I'm sorry I've left you too many times to count, but I won't leave you again, you're the only thing that's constant in my life."

Still nothing, and he tried again,

"Y/n, it's me, Wilbur, not Ghostbur or whoever, your Wilbur, your best friend."

With the name now echoing in your mind, your eyes finally focused on the man crouched in front of you.

"Wil...?"

Wilbur smiled at your quiet whisper and quickly nodded. He watched as you reached out to hold his hand, squeeze it to check if he was real, and when it was confirmed, he caught you as your body fell, tired from being controlled like a puppet for so long.

"No one will take me from you again."

"Yes Chat, U/n has finally revealed their name and their voice!"

Though, I'm still just typing. Not so comfortable revealing so much. It took lots of convincing to reveal my name and say just Wilbur's name in the mic.

You both were finally back in the comforts of your home, another DreamSMP livestream. You both had talked about the things you did on your road trip on the stream before you logged out and stopped streaming for the day.

Checking your emails you paused before one, eyes widening as you read its contents.
