Chapter 2 The Awakening

Arthur Pov:

'Okay let's do it Regis'

'Finally, I thought that this time would never come. Just a few months and I can walk around with my own four legs.'

'Let's just do it Regis'

'Okay, okay, I'll do it. Let's just hope your new rune will work or else you can say goodby to one of your cores.'

Nico Pov:

'Now I understand why we had to sit so far from each other. The house is totally decimated, and we have shredded the majority of the garden as well. I just hope Mom and Dad are not angry at us. With that thought I open my eyes and stare in the sky-blue eyes of my mother.'

Reynolds Pov:

'Before I can react properly, I feel a shockwave that throws me and Alice away. What happens? No there is no time to think about that.'

I grab my wife during our flight and hold her tight. As an augmenter I can protect my body with mana, but Alice can't since she is an emitter. I hold her and hope we are saved. But then I start to think about what just transpired. Our house is in shambles.

"My boys"

I can't do more then just stare at it for a few moments but then I run to the house. I sprint to the point where we last seen the boys.

"They are not hear"

Desperately I search through the rubble and after a minute find Nico. He seems to be alright but what is that there is mana around him. He is not lying on the floor he is levitating.

"He has awakened."

But soon after a cold sweat runs down my spine.

'If he was responsible for this explosion then what happened to Arthur. Afterall those two are inseparable.'

"Where is Arthur?" I asked him more fiercely than I wanted.

He starts to cry but still manages to sniffle out an answer. "He Sniff went to the Sniff other side of Sniff the house. He said Sniff it would be Sniff dangerous. Am I a bad child Whaaaaa"

'On the other side!'

I grab Nico, hold him in my arms and start to go to the other side of the house. There I see Alice crying and hugging Arthur. She looks up to me and says:" Rey, Art has awakened."

Alice Pov:

'What happened? I just heard and felt something loud that pushed me away. Suddenly I am in Ray's embrace and in the next moment I am alone on the floor. I see Rey run back inside our house but why?'

Sometime later I realize my boys are still inside. I rush after Rey just to hear that the two are not where they were a minute ago.

'No, no, no, no, that can't be'

I start to franticly throw the rubble out of my way in search of my children.

'I can't lose them.'

In search of them I go to the opposite site of Rey and find Art. He is alive but no that can't be. Was he responsible for this explosion. He awakened but if something happened to Nico, he would never forgive himself for this. They are so close.

I hear Rey coming and just respond with:" Rey, Art has awakened."

Arthur Pov:

'Shit that was far bigger than last time. I doubt that there is one wall that is still standing upright.'

'No shit genius. Obviously, it will be stronger than last time.'

'What are you all about again?'

'Last time you awakened and this time you mirrored that occurrence so that the aether which we placed around your core just disappears. Remember you had your core since birth. So, it is not in the black stage and your mana reserves are about 1.5 time bigger than in your second life.'
