Chapter 24 Student VS teacher

Arthur Pov:

Feyfey, Kathlyn and I are walking towards our first lesson in PMM.

"Hey Arthur why did you chose this class when you are saying you are going to train us?"

"Because I am curious. I don't think that every teacher teaches the same thing. So if I can copy some techniques or tell you that it is complete rubbish what you have learned here, it can be of use for all of us."

"I just hope you can learn something from professor Geist, but we will have to see."

We walked inside the classroom and sat down in the first row. Just like last time Geist bragged about himself being an accomplished adventurer and challenged us from the DC. Feyrith started with his water magic and faired rather good. But he was still overpowered by Geist since his contour is still better and has more mana with whom he can create stronger attacks. After Feyfey's defeat he came back with a solum look on his face.

The next one was Kathlyn she again just attacked and did not defend herself. Her water attacks were formidable but neither strong nor fast enough to stop Geist. He was pushed back and could not let her win against himself and used a strong attack that could hurt her greatly. I used mirage walk and stopped the attack by creating a vacuum around her stopping the flames at once. Everyone was surprised especially Geist.

"I think that is enough professor. Losing yourself in a duel against a first year student and using magic against her is not the best way to handle the situation."

"What are you on about. I had everything under control."

"So you are saying that you can cancel spells out when they are already formed or are you telling all of us that a spell of this strength doesn't hurt anyone that is unprotected? If it is the first one then please enlighten me because that is unheard of and I think you would be better of in the research department."

"What are you on about this spell was not dangerous."

"Then please let me try once as well I said before releasing some bloodlust." He stumbled back and took a defensive stance.

"If you want then please come at me." I smirked and created prepared myself.

Kathlyn Pov:

Just when the professor's spell hit me a protective wind spell was around me stopping the flames. Arthur was the one that used it. He talked to the professor like he was a bug in front of him while still using polite speech. He reprimanded him that whatever he says is not going to cut it. The professor rebuked his arguments and Arthur challenged Geist. He smirked and rushed towards the professor. I could detect no mana at all but that might just be his control over it. After all when he masks himself he won't be detected by anyone or that was what princess Tessia told me. That even a mage specialized on sensory magic has no chance. Geist used his sword to parry Arthurs light blue blade. It looked strange almost transparent. Geist attacked with his sword and imbued it with flames but those quickly dimed down.

I could not understand what was happening since he himself looked surprised. But then everything got revealed. "I advise you to hurry up in defeating me since the air here is rather fin. You don't want to lose against a student do you. And I guess you will if this drags on for much longer." He taunted the professor in attacking him with more powerful attacks. Was that what he meant with: "I just hope you can learn something from professor Geist, but we will have to see"? Is he testing the professor if he is fit teaching us? But why? Anyway Arthur started to get attacked with lethal attacks which he dodged without problems. This made Geist even more enraged. He had no chance of using fire but augmented his body. He slashed and slashed while Arthur dodged and dodged. He did not even fight him seriously. Is that why he has the confidence in training us.
