Chapter 11 Giving the director and her pet a scare

Cecilia Pov:

When we arrived at home I knew it. They are here. Nico is here. I tried to act as normal as possible but I just couldn't do it. When uncle Reynolds said that he would spare with Art it seemed ridiculous but I didn't interfere since that had to be a part of his plan. When everyone went to take their seats I sat next to Nico and we talked about what had happened to each other. He even gave me a ring. At first I was so happy but then I realised that it was a dimensional ring. None the less the time chatting and laughing with him was unforgettable. Soon after Art decimated his father by using all four deviants in his arsenal to an extent. Afterwards we went to eat dinner. I equipped my armour and it placed itself around my core. It seems that at the same time the aether masking my core disappeared.

At the table dad had to say it. This idiot. Doesn't he know how hard it is for Lilia.

"Reynolds do you know what kind of potential your son has. I thought you were losing it sparing with your eight year old son but to think that he is a mage and one that can manipulate all four elements and their deviants. If only that cursed artifact would work Cecilia and Lilia could become mages as well." At that the room darkened for two reasons. One Lilia was not just sad but nearly crying out loud and two Art and Nico.

"Mr Helstea are you saying that you used the artifact to create a mana core on Lilia and Cecilia?"

"Yes I have and it didn't work. Those artifices must be idiots that only want to get money as fast as possible."

"Why did you do something so idiotic? Don't you read how and when it should be used? Haven't you thought of the consequences." Nico was reaving with anger.

"What do you mean I just want them to bec-"

"You nearly crippled them as mages. Both of them have potential that is the reason why those artifacts are only allowed to be used after the age of 25 since no one awakens after that time. If a person is already forming its core or has formed it that artifact can be the cause of a inability to use magic in the future." Dads eyes grew wide but then he grew angry.

"Are you protecting those good for nothings that just intend to become rich over night and use us for it."

"WE ARE THE ONE THAT CREATED THOSE ARTIFACTS AND THEREFORE KNOW HOW THEY WORK. THOSE INSTRUCTIONS ARE THERE FOR A REASON. THAT IS ALSO THE REASON WHY THE KING OF SAPIN HAS NO POWER ANYMORE. SINCE HE TRIED TO STEAL THE FORMULA AND THE TWO OF US DESCIDED TO SHARE THE TECHOLIGY WITH SAPIN IF HE RESIDS."

As Nico said that we were all silent even me. They are the reason why he is no longer in power. And it seems dad realised what he has done. I am save since my core is protected but Lilia's. She needed some time before realising it. She would never become a mage because of her father. She started crying and I went after her. To help her.

"THOSE ARTIFACTS ARE CONSTRUCTED SO THAT WHOEVER USES THEM WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO USE ONE OR NO ATRIBUTE AND NEVER GET ABOVE LIGHT RED NO MATTER HOW MANY MANA CORES THEY DEVOUR."

I could hear Nico reprimanding dad and mom trying to console her. Why is Arthur not stopping him? Is he angry as well? But why is it because of Lilia or me. But he can fix it but then I heard it."

"DID YOU GIVE SUCH AN ARTIFACT TO ELEANOR AS WELL."

I get it he can fix it but this recklessness is unforgivable for someone like Arthur that loves family above anything else. With the literal killing intent of both Arthur and Nico he started to shrink back into his seat and nobody was able to move.

"Nico, Arthur please stop it. The poor boy is on the verge of passing out. He did it to help his children. And since I know your abilities or at least a bit of it I know that you can still save them."
