(S1, EP:8) The Ultimate Showdown 2

Night Six

Johnny Gat rested in a tree branch high above the ground.

Sonic found Freddy in the middle of the night. The animatronic seemed to be powered off. Sonic smirked and spent the rest of the night messing with the bear.

Mario and Siegfried sat around a campfire. When the knight left to go to the bathroom, Mario poisoned his food. Siegfried had an odd feeling that he shouldn't eat his dinner, but Mario worked so hard on it. Swallowing his irrational fears, Siegfried ate his food. He died in his sleep several hours later.

Lucio laid down on a pile of leaves. In his dreams, he saw an apparition. It took him a moment to recognize the figure standing in front of him. When he finally registered who it was, his blood ran cold. It was Hanzo Hasashi.

Lucio gulped audibly.

"Sc-Scorpion? But, you're dead! I saw your body just earlier today!"

The ninja silenced him with a wave of the hand.

"There is no time to explain. You are the only living tribute that I can talk to right now, since you have a powerful tie to one of the Major Arcana."

Lucio laughed nervously.

"What? You would've preferred somebody else?"

Scorpion made a sound like an angry hiss.

"This is no time for jokes! You must listen to me. The place you are in is a trap. Even if you manage to be the last one standing, he will not let you escape. You will be trapped here forever."

Lucio turned slightly pale at those words.

"Who's doing this to us? I'll kick their ass!"

Scorpion shook his head.

"I do not know. Even in the afterlife, I have no way of telling who this person is or why they are doing it. All I know is that you need to leave the Arena immediately. Don't fight the other tributes; just find a way out!"

With that, Lucio awoke in a cold sweat. He got to his feet and looked at the trees around him. He knew what had to be done; he just had no clue how to do it.
