Chapter 17: A Kingdom Taken

Chloe's P.O.V.

We stood outside of a sewer area that Aang led us to. He told us it's another way into the city.

"A secret passage? Why didn't we just use this last time?" Sokka asked Aang curiously confused.

Aang used his staff to open the hatch. The hatch flew off, and green sludge mixed with water came flowing out of it. I chuckled as I watched Sokka get grossed out by it.

"Does that answer your question?" Aang asked him before stepping foot inside.

The rest of us followed, walking in a straight line till we reached the end. Aang used air bending to make a path through the water, while Katara, Sapphire and I used water bending. Poor Sokka stood behind us, getting all the water thrown onto him. Once we reached the end, Aang looked to make sure no one was around before removing the lid with air bending and flying out. Katara, Sapphire, and I followed him.

"That wasn't as bad as I thought," Katara said to us with soft smile as she stepped closer to Aang.

"You might want to ask Sokka about that one Katara," I spoke as we watched Sokka emerge from the sewer.

Sapphire and I laughed at him as he was covered in sludge. Katara and I looked to the barrel full of water. We water bended some water from it, splashing it at Sokka to wash him off. Aang used air bending to dry him off.

"Feel better now Sokka?" Jami teased as her and Aidan stepped out.

"Sokka, what's that on your face?" Aidan asked him pointing to the little tiny sewer creatures that sat on his cheeks.

Sokka screamed as he tried ripping them off. Sapphire was laughing at him. I was at least trying to be somewhat nice and not laugh at him, but it was harder than it looks.

"They won't let go! Help!" Sokka shouted.

Aang air bended himself at Sokka throwing him to the wall. Sokka sat down on the wooden crate saddened as he looked down.

"Stop making so much noise. It's just a purple pentapus," Aang said to him softly.

Aang gently started to pet the little creature. It lifted up it's tentacles and Aang was able to pull it off gently. They're so cute. Sokka got the other one off and I helped with the one of the back of his neck.

"Hey!-"

We all stood there wide eyed as three Fire Nation soilders came walking up to us. Aang quickly his behind us covering his arrow, before we all smiled at them acting as if we were doing nothing.

"What are you kids doing out past curfew?" The one in the middle asked us strictly.

"Sorry, we were just on our way home," Katara said to them before we turned around heading the other direction.

'Wait, what's the matter with him?"

We looked at Sokka noticing the little red dots the pentapus left behind.

"Uh, it has pentapox sir," I answered as I turned Sokka around to face them.

He stepped forward to touch Sokka's face.

"Um,...it's highly contagious," Katara warned.

Sokka thought for a quick moment before complaining:

"Oh, it's so awful, I'm dying."

"And deadly," Sapphire added playing along.

Sokka kept stepping forward towards the soilders.

"Hey, I think I've heard of pentapox. Didn't your cousin Chang did of it?" He asked one of his other soilders.
