Inari sits in one of the very first created locations in Elysium. Night, snow-white sand and the endless blue sea, which makes a lulling noise and reflects the pale bluish light of the full moon. Silvery constellations of the southern hemisphere sparkle above it. The warm sea breeze blows his hair, the sand dissolves under his palms.

Serenity and peace.

That's all he feels while the whole world collapses. The feeling that comes to a person when he burns out. He tries hard all his life, strives for something bright and kind, but people and circumstances constantly break him. And at the moment of the climax of injustice, peace comes. When you become not bad and not good. You just let go of anything and stop feeling pain, tension, excitement or euphoria-like joy.

At that moment, Inari felt like a child and an old man at the same time. One just came into this world and knows nothing, while the other lived his life and realized that there is nothing to know here. There is no point, there is no time either. He doesn't even have himself. A body that can be discarded and a mind that can be downloaded anywhere. It's like plasticine. It's not hard to change it either.

But there is some real beauty. Limitless human imagination. The ability to create absolutely any world, and each of them will be beautiful in its own way. All that remains for us is just to contemplate this unlimited beauty. Admire every part of it, every detail. Everything here is like perfection.

Elysium is a perfection. A world in which there is no ugliness, disease, death. A world that doesn't need money. A world where you get everything you want, you just have to wish.

"Such a wonderful place," a familiar husky voice sounds from somewhere nearby.

Inari slowly looks behind.

Dave sits next to him. The avatar is in sync with his real face, only the hair and beard are silver, just like the stars in this imaginary sky.

"It's one of my first locations," Inari smiles sadly.

"It's time to indulge in nostalgia," Dave paternally patts him on the shoulder. As if there was no conflict between them.

"Nostalgia for the future. That's what I'll call it," Inari replies.

"You are partly right. We are moving to a new stage. This is a legendary event. I would even say one of the most important in the history of mankind. Think, we have almost reached the level of God," Dave waves his hand, and the ocean that raged in front of them begin to dry up before their eyes.

"Rather, we became gods. This world and everything that happened... We did something incredible," Inari says thoughtfully as he watches the water disappear.

"You must have been worried. This is the best outcome that could have been for all of us."

Inari smiles bitterly.

"From the very beginning, I wanted to gift the whole world with hope. It sounds naive and pretentious, but you can't say otherwise. I wanted all people to live in a world where they have the opportunity to live their lives the way they want - to travel, have all material goods and be equal in them. I wanted them to learn to be happy in the moment so they could contemplate. I understood perfectly well that reality was harsh. But I believed that I could create another one and move them there. At the same time, I didn't want to deprive anyone of their original life. I wanted to give them a choice."

"But the choice in such conditions is simply impossible. The physical shell is no longer practical. Who needs a physical body in a world where there is nowhere to use it... These are all relics of the past," Dave says, again waving his hand back to the ocean.

"Why did it happen so? Why has the world come to the point where most people have no choice?" Inari asks thoughtfully.

"Because it has always been that way. People initially had no choice. We are always dependent on someone. Equality in the real world is a myth. It is simply impossible. It can be achieved only if you create a new world. Which is what we did."

Inari silently looks at the constellations that shone peacefully in the blue sky.

"I hope I didn't make a mistake in choosing this guy..."

"Are you talking about Yuno?"

"Yes. He has a difficult task ahead of him."

"It's complex and interesting. He chooses between the whole world and his lover."

"That's why I'm worried."

"But it's already obvious. He chose people."

"I'm talking about how hard it will be for him at first."

"But he'll get used to it."

Inari looks sadly into the distance. The sky gradually begins to disintegrate into small fragments. Now it looks as if they were sitting under a huge glass dome that someone had hit and cracked into small pieces.

"It's starting..." Inari whisperes.

"It will be a fast process. Painless," says Dave.

A light sea breeze is replaced by a strong wind, quickly growing into a hurricane. The location is crumbling before their eyes. Chaos reigns all around. This is probably what the end of the world looks like.

Destruction, decay.
Beauty and horror at the same time.
Until everything goes dark.
Complete loss of feelings
