“Well look who it is,” sneered a voice. “If it isn’t the little whore that’s trying to claw her way into my family’s money.” Brad sat down across the table from Elena.

“Excuse me?” Elena rolled her eyes. “Let me inform you something. I’m not trying to get any of your family’s money. If you had any brain cells you would know my family has just as much as yours. Besides our families have been wanting to join so why is it such a big surprise to you? Oh wait that’s right you know nothing of your own family.”

“You little…” His lip curled making his eyes burn with hatred.

Elena leaned forward. “How about this, you stay away from me and I’ll stay away from you. We both know you hate me and I can’t stand the sight of your filth so we both win. So go find a real gold digger to screw and leave me alone.”

“Well you for sure have grown up.” Brad joked. “I know you would have never said that in front of anyone else.” He cocked an eye brow. “I remember the sweet little Elena who used to pick flowers and play house with Thomas and I. You were always so kind and innocent. Never once had I heard an unkind thing come out of that beautiful mouth till now. How about we leave and join me in my…”

“If you finish that I swear to God Brad I will…”

“Feisty.” He leaned back in his chair. “I might have misjudged you little Elena Vandus.”

“And I judged you perfectly, a pig headed man whore who only cares about himself,” Elena spat.

Brad’s eyes flashed with anger and he grabbed her wrist. “Don’t you dare say that again,” he growled. “Don’t think you know me because of what the tabloids say. You think you know everything but you’re just a stupid little girl who doesn’t know anything.”

“Then inform me. Do you really sleep around with half the women they say you do? Do you really not care about your family’s legacy? Do you really plan on doing nothing with your education of being top of your class? You could change the world but you don’t, instead Thomas is the one who…”

“Oh shut up. You might think so high of my little brother but let me tell you something he isn’t half the man you think he is. You think I’m the bad one but you know nothing. He’s not the perfect son everything thinks he is.”

“Then tell me.”

Brad let her go. “You used to like me more than Thomas. We used to talk forever but now when you look at me all I can see in your eyes is hatred and judgment.”

Elena was taken aback. She didn’t think he remembered when they were young. “You left for school and barely talked to me till you stopped. And during the time all I heard was what you were doing. You never said sorry for cutting me out or anything. And when you came back you would barely talk to me and when you did all you did was say mean things.”

He was quiet for a moment. “You were so close to Thomas by then and we were older so I figured you had picked him for…”

“Brad tell me the truth. Are you messing around with me or are you serious right now? Because I can take you being an asshole but not this. If this is a joke to you then you better leave now.”

“You still don’t believe me.” He got up and left without another word.

Elena sat there for a moment wondering what had just happened. He was right, they had once been so very close but he left and her family had pushed her to get to know Thomas. It wasn’t her fault her and Brad were apart for so many years. It was his fault they stopped talking.
