So I figured out the perfect song for Brad and Elena, "Between the Raindrops" by Lifehouse. It real.ly tells their story. Also for this chapter listen to the song "Never Alone" by Barlowgirl. It'll really help bring the tears.

Thanks for reading and let me know what you think. Hopefully you like it and thanks for reading.

There was a dull pain in Elena’s head as she woke. When she opened her eyes she found herself in what looked like a hospital. There was a machine hooked to her that sounded her heart rate.

“Hey you’re awake.” Mr. Vandus got up from his chair and slid his hand around hers. “How do you feel?”

“Like my head exploded.” She sighed and rubbed her head and saw the ring on her hand. “Brad!” She sat up and felt a wave of nausea.

“Take it easy. You’ve been through a lot.”

“Where’s Brad? Is he ok? Is he…”

Mr. Vandus sighed. “He’s alive but he’s not good. He lost a lot of blood and he still might die. Elena you need to prepare yourself for the worst. The doctors said he probably won’t make it.”

Tears streamed down her face and Mr. Vandus pulled her in for a hug. “Hey honey don’t worry about that right now,” he soothed. “We need you to get better.”

“I’m fine I just need to see Brad.” Elena looked up at him. “Can I see him?”

“Let’s see what the doctor has to say about you and then we can see.” He didn’t look happy but Elena didn’t care. All she cared about was Brad.

“Hey so I heard you were awake,” a male doctor said coming into the room. “I’m Dr. White. How are you feeling?” He came to check my chart. “It looks like you got off pretty easy. Some bruised ribs and a concussion but other than that you’re fine. You should be able to leave soon.”

“So can I see Brad?” she asked.

Dr. White sighed. “I can only tell you he’s struggling and we don’t know yet if he’ll make it. But sadly only family can see him now. I’ll keep you updated.”

“We’re engaged.” Elena held up her hand. “Right before Thomas attacked us Brad proposed!”

            “What!?” Mr. Vandus gaped.

“Well then I guess you can see him.” Dr. White smiled. “Let me just run a few tests on you and then you can go see him.”

Elena stood at the doorway unsure if she wanted to go in. She knew she wanted to see Brad but she didn’t know if she could handle seeing him so bad. Dr. White had said he was very weak and barely hanging on.

“Elena?” Mrs. Hathern asked when Elena opened the door. “What are you doing here? I thought only family could come in.”

“We’re engaged,” she replied without thinking. Instead she looked at Brad and her heart broke. He was pale white and hooked up to multiple machines. A breathing mask covered most of his face and Elena covered her mouth. “Brad,” she chocked.

She sent to him and grabbed his hand. “Please Brad please you have to be ok. I can’t do this without you…”

“He lost over half his blood and took a bullet right into the heart. It went through but ripped apart most of it,” Dr. White explained. “We were able to get him a new heart but his body is still weak and we don’t know if his body will accept the heart. He might be too weak for it. Also we put him in a coma and when he wakes up we’ll see what’s going to happen.”
