Chapter 13

Wow, feels weird to be walking side by side with Shigeo again(for a really long time). He was quiet, as per usual. But, this is the first time you've ever felt uncomfortable with his silence. And I mean it. This is the first time.

"Hey, Shige-chan, are you okay? You seemed to be down in the dumps," You said as you looked at him in worry.

Shigeo seemed to snap out of his thoughts as he looked at you, his eyes widened a bit in surprise, "I'm okay, (Y/n)-san. Sorry for the silence," He said.

Huh, he immediately read the room. Shigeo's rapidly changing, and you didn't even notice it, not until now.

You decided to lighten up the mood. Shigeo looked sad and down, even though he doesn't tell you what's bothering him anymore, you know him all too well.

"Hmm, are you for certain, Shige-chan~?" You said, adding a tone to it as you give Shigeo a grin.

He nodded, "Yes, I am fine, (Y/n). Just thinking a lot today," He replied shortly as he took his gaze back to the road.

"You're making me worried, Shigeo... You're not ranting to me anymore!" You whined.

"I am seriously okay, (Y/n)," He said, his tone of voice not changing and remaining monotone.

You sigh in defeat as you give up the(too much)positive facade to Shigeo, "If you really are okay, let's go on a friendly date then! My treat!" You said as you smile at Shigeo whilst giving him a wink.

"Date...?" He asked, a bit shocked by your sudden offer.

You laughed, "It's just a friendly date, Shige! Don't worry! And besides, even if you don't tell me what's bothering you, I know you. SO! I'm treating you out to make you feel better!" You said with enthusiasm.

Shigeo's sweat dropped as he shook his head, "There's no need, (Y/n)! I'm really okay!" He said, trying to stop you from treating him to this friendly date, he must need to make an excuse just to stop you from spending money for him, "B-Besides! I have a part-time job, R-Reigen-Shisho called me earlier before leaving class-"

"You know you're not very good at lying, right?" You said with an unimpressed expression.

Shigeo sighed in defeat, "Yes..." He paused and looked at you with guilt, "You really don't have to treat me, I'm really okay," He said, trying to assure you that what he's telling is true.

"I'll cry if you turn down my kind offer," You said, glaring at him while crossing your arms against your chest.

Shigeo ended up taking the offer with pure guilt in his heart.

(Y/n) decided to go to the nearest amusement park in town. Since it's already October, many of the parks decided to transform into small amusement parks for people to have their little business on. Of course, there are rides and many stalls that have their games in them.
