Chapter 37.

After a long and exhausting day at work, the two of us finally made our way home, and I sank down on the couch, leaning back as an exhausted sigh left my mouth.

I felt something laying on my lap, and when I opened my eyes to look, I saw how Ryder had laid down on the couch, his head on my lap.

I smiled down at him, seeing him return my smile. I ran my fingers through his hair, watching him close his eyes as a sigh of content left his mouth.

I just enjoyed helping him calm down, knowing he had a rough day at work.

"Thank you, mi amor." I just smiled softly, ruffling his hair a bit as my other hand placed on his cheek and I caressed his skin with my thumb.

"Nothing to thank me for, I am your girlfriend and I wanna take care of you now." I said and smiled, watching his body relax as he enjoyed me showing him affection. The affection he needed, and I was willing to give it to him.

After a while of the two of us just sitting there in silence, enjoying the peace, I slowly raised his head from my lap to lay him down, making him grab my wrist as he opened his eyes, looking up at me.

"Where are you going?" He asked, staring into my eyes. I smiled, kneeling down as I pressed a soft kiss onto his lips.

"I wanna make something to eat for the two of us, just stay here okay? You're exhausted, so just let me take care of you." I smiled when I saw the smile forming on his face.

His other hand placed on my cheek as he pulled me down, kissing me softly another time.

"If I don't marry you one day, I am the biggest idiot on this planet." He said and I chuckled, watching him.

"Well, I can only agree with that." He grinned at me and I made my way into the kitchen, starting to cook dinner for the two of us as I hummed.

After I finished, I could hear his footsteps coming up behind me, and I could feel his hands placing on my hips as he leaned his chin onto my shoulder.

"It smells amazing." He said and I smiled at him, before placing a kiss onto his cheek.

"Prepare the table for me, will you?"

"Of course." He said, taking his hands off me before he started to prepare the table. I put the food on the table, sitting down opposite from him as the two of us begann to eat.

"I won't lie, I kinda miss Alejandro." I said and he looked at me with an raised eyebrow.

"Why?" He asked before taking another bite, and I giggled a bit at his reaction.

"He is annoying, yes he is. But he is still funny and full of energy, and I love to see the two of you fighting." I said and laughed softly when I saw him roll his eyes at my words.

"He is an idiot, nothing more." He said and I raised an eyebrow at him, a grin on my face.

"Let's be honest querido, you love your brother. Even though the two of you fight a lot, you two really love each other, I know that." I said and he sighed, rolling his eyes again.

"He is my brother, I need to take care of him. But he is still an idiot." He said and I grinned.

The two would never say it out loud, but they really care for each other.

We continued to talk about our day at work, and afterwards Ryder did the dishes while I made my way upstairs to get ready for bed.

As I was taking off my make up, Ryder walked up behind me, placing a soft kiss onto my shoulder before he started to brush his teeth.
