Keisha

My parents have avoided me. I hope that they are ashamed of themselves.

I am still pissed. Kodah definitely picked up on it as I only got one kill.

He definitely made sure to beat on me for it. I told him to keep my gun safe because I still don't trust my parents entirely.

Kahlil

Mom came home yesterday and she was relaxed and hungover.

So I am doing everything I can to keep her in a good mood.

I am currently bringing lunch up to her room.

"Aw Kahlil you didn't have to."

"You aren't doing well right now. I'm not busy and you are my Mom. You take care of me. I return the favour."

"No... I am your Mom it's my job to take care of you."

"I don't expect you to be superwoman. Can we hangout today? Before we are bombarded?"

She laughs. "I thought you were too grown to hangout with your mom?"

"I only said that because Wayne tried convincing me that it wasn't cool. Just so he can suck up to you which I'm still mad I fell for." I roll my eyes.

"It's not your fault I'm the—"

"Don't you dare!" I cover my ears. No guy wants their Mom to be their friends favourites... and the reason being because they are supposedly good looking.

"Hey! I made you. You look good because I look good."

I scoff, "And all those comments about me 'looking like my daddy?'" I mock the way she speaks.

"You are gorgeous because I look like a supermodel—"

"Says who?"

"Says your lil friends behind your back and to my face."

I cringe.

She continues to speak. "And 'you look like your daddy' is an insult because I just know some of them things you be doing ain't coming from me."

"Mom? it's New Year's Eve. Can we tone it down before guests come?"

"Oh that means you have your first swim next week. Are you ready?"

I nod.

"You are nervous aren't you?" Mom sits down next to me on the floor.

"I just want a good final season before I hang my goggles up. You know?"

"What's stopping you from getting that?"

"Will you be there?"

"Of course I'll be there."

"You're my good luck charm."  I lean my head on her shoulder.

She laughs. "Kahlil what difference does it make if I'm there?"

"I only care if you watch. The first meet and the last. Anything inbetween and I don't care. But if you come to the first one I will be more confident for every meet. And seeing you when I win a season is the best feeling I can get at my meets."
