I have to admit...it was a foolish idea to travel on a barely healed leg. It hurt pretty bad and I had to often stop, making my trip even longer than it should've been. Finally I saw the city in view, the lanterns lit and the streets fairly empty other than drunkards. This situation is actually quite promising though, as Venti himself is a heavy drinker. I walked through, of course some guys tried to flirt with me, but I looked around for Venti. He was strangely not anywhere to be seen, oh please tell me he came here...Then a man came up to me dressed in a brown suit, he introduced himself as Zhongli, and asked what I was doing out so late. I told him about how I was searching for a bard in green that plays the lyre and has two braids.
"So what is this bards name, I believe I know who you're talking about."
"You know who Venti is? Oh thank Barbatos."
"Yes and may I ask if you're Barbara?"
"I indeed am, would you like me to sign something for you?"
"Oh there is no need, I was just making sure so I take the right person to Venti. Allow me to guide you Miss Barbara."
"Oh there is no need to be so formal, and thank you for the help"
On the walk there I was told a lot of things by Zhongli, he's so wise...Did he know who Venti truly was? I wonder...Soon we came to a nice little homey place and Zhongli opened the door. He got me a cup of water and then we went into a bedroom where a drunken Venti was laying down.
"Little Brother, I'm back, did you drink too much while I was away?"
*hic* "Nooooooooooo"
His words were slurred and he had a bucket next to him that Zhongli had apparently placed there. He stared at me when he noticed me as well, probably because of the event...
"Barba"*hic*"raaaaaaa..."
I sighed and walked over to sit next to him, and when I did he grabbed my leg and looked at the bandages.
"It's not your fault Venti, plus I've been healing it so it really doesn't hurt."
He began to cry in which I was surprised as I never would've imagined the careless bard could be so sad...I put my hand in his hair and ruffled it as I smiled at him. He began to speak up with his slurred words that I barely made out and hiccups interrupting him through his sentences.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be stronger for you Barbara...And I put you in danger..."
"Venti, I think you're plenty strong. You know, it takes a lot of strength to always be smiling..."
Venti looked over at Zhongli and gave him one of his goofy smiles.
"Big brother how did you know she would be here?"
"Well these are my lands, so if feeling for a certain presence I can usually pin point it."
"Zhongli....Are you Morax..?"
I was a little shocked but from the speech of this conversation it made sense, I mean 'Big Brother' and 'my lands'...
"Yes indeed...Barbatos here is like a little brother to me, after all he is one of the youngest among us archons."
I gently smiled and put Venti's head on my lap, running my fingers through his hair. He began to fall asleep as I did so, and so I sang him a faint song. I chose to stay with him for the night, Zhongli bidding us a Goodnight. I got changed into a nightgown that Zhongli had gotten me, then laid down next to the already sleeping Venti. I undid his braids and smiled, putting my hand on his cheek.
