Barbara POV:
I was shocked when he asked to have a relationship, my heart just wouldn't stop beating so rapidly as I looked at him. My silence must've made him nervous and regret for asking such a question, because he tried to laugh it off. I smiled as I took both of his hands, I wasn't thinking straight when I told him yes. It's been a week since and we're getting packed up to leave Liyue and return to Mondstat, but I have a sense of regret and guilt now...To keep this relationship together means to disappoint the sisters, as a nun is not supposed to be in a relationship. Also, I don't think Barbatos has thought about one huge difference between us...Lifespans...In the moment I hadn't thought about his immortal life, and how mine can be easily ended at any time. I looked over at Venti, who was packing, as I wondered about whether to bring it up. The sooner I tackle this issue, the better...right?

"...Venti...I've been thinking about something in our relationship that is a big obstacle."

He looked over at me, he was completely oblivious as to what I had in mind. His eyes stared at me, and he looked a little nervous. Does he think he did something wrong?

"Yes, Barbara?"

"Well...You're a god and I'm a human...You are basically immortal but I'm..."

As he listened to the beginning of that sentence, I think he finally realized that death was the enemy of this relationship. He looked down at the ground, frustrated at himself I believe.

"I promise I'll find some way that either I can become a human, or you can become immortal. Of course we should not do it so soon, because if...IF...this relationship doesn't work then our bodies and lives can stay the same. Yet, if we do establish we want to do it, then I'll begin looking. I love you my goddess..."

He went back to packing as he turned away. I sighed as I too continued packing, Zhongli even let me take any clothes he gave me! We were finally done packing and made our way to Mondstat on wind currents made by my lovely Venti. We arrived right outside the gates as we held hands and laughed at each other, I was not in my usual attire people see. I was in a lavender dress with my hair down, and it was rather short compared to my other outfits. Yet I completely love this dress, it just makes me feel so special...People were staring as they whispered about us, but we couldn't be bothered. We made our way to the church and walked in, and I greeted Rosaria as she looked at me.

"Rosaria! Hello!"

"I see you're finally back, I see your trip went well. I also see you've gotten bold about what you wear.

"Yes...About that...I was thinking of resigning my position..."

There was silence as Rosaria stood there, shocked.

"Really? But you've always been stubborn with your burden of work and wanting to do it."

"Well yes, but I really want this relationship between me and Venti...A special relationship. Yet as a nun, you can't have such things."

"I see. You'd rather have a relationship than be stuck here. I mean no one can force you to stay, so the choice is all yours. I would go inform the fellow sisters."

"Thank you for understanding Rosaria, I was afraid since you do always seem kind of cold..."

After that encounter I was off and told all the fellow sister about what was going on between me and Venti, and how I was no longer going to be working at the cathedral. With all those people out of the way, it was time for my big sister...Jean... I don't know how much she'll care, because we don't talk much. Venti seemed to be moping and nervous about going to see Jean about this.

"I think it would be best if we just didn't tell Jean! Yes, there is no need!"

I chuckled and teased him

"What are you afraid of her? Oh no! Not the scary blonde lady!"

We laughed together and headed into the office, Venti and I saw Jean overworking herself at her desk per usual.

"Hi Jean!"

She looked up to see me in my beautiful lavender dress, and her expression was shocked. I suppose it has been a while since she saw me in something other than my old work clothes.

"Barbara? You're wearing something other than your work clothes? That dress is a bit short on you, but the color is magnificent."

She glanced over to see Venti halfway hiding behind me. She glared, not liking Venti around me I suppose? Perhaps it's because he is a bard with a drinking problem?

"Venti, what are you doing near my sister?"

"Oh um, hello Grandmaster Jean! Um..."

"Jean don't be upset, in fact we've been hanging out a lot and actually decided on something for the both of us! I mean you've...fallen in love before, haven't you..?"

"Love? I do not have time for- WAIT! You and him!? No, no, no, BARBATOS!"

Venti just stared at her, and so did I. She also knew he was Barbatos? Jean had a death stare as she yelled at him, I now see why Venti was scared of her.

"Big sister, he truly is nice to me and he really does care about me. He protected me in a few fights since I'm not all that great of a fighter, and he's made me happy ever since I've met him. I see you also know who he truly is, but that doesn't change who Venti is to me."

I gave a big smile as Jean relaxed a bit and smiled back at me. She sighed as she really didn't want Venti dating me, but knew how stubborn I could be.

"Fine then...Congrats on your twos relationship. Venti..."

She shot him another death glare

"You better take good care of my sister and protect her from any harm, or so help me I will-"

"I know, grandmaster Jean. I'll make sure to take care of Barbara, she is very special to me. We will be taking our leave now, thank you for allowing this."

With that we said good bye and held hands, we looked forward to our future together. I was a little scared about how death could absolutely destroy everything, and if I died then Venti would be alone once again. I squeezed his hand at the thought of it, but gave him a smile when he looked down at me.

"Venti, I do want you to try and get a job somewhere though...I will also get a job, but I want us to have a stable life together. Of course I won't stop you from music, but just a little job to bring mora in would be good."

I gave him a smile as I told him what I wished for, of course I too would get a job since I had quit mine. We ended up finding jobs over in Liyue and stayed there, and even bought a small house. It did hurt to have to say goodbye to Mondstat after all I grew up there, but Liyue seemed like the best shot we had at potential. We sat near the fire as we huddled in a blanket together, his wing around me.

"I love you, Barbara."

"I love you too, Venti."
