They were happily wed, still living in Liyue, and Barbara attended archon meetings as well. Barbara was basically a Demi-god, but the archons took her right in and treated her like a sister. Venti looked after mondstadt from afar and told Jean to send him a letter if she ever required his assistance.

Venti and Barbara got...busy in the bedroom...to say the least 💀. (I'm sorry I couldn't resist once it popped into my head.) and Barbara eventually had a child, blonde hair with Venti's eyes. Soon enough the child grew wings just like his mother and father, the house was in shambles because of this. Even with the kid having wings, they didn't bother to hide them. This was their child, something they were proud of, and someone they truly loved. It wouldn't be fair to their son if they kept him locked up all because he had wings, and well he just wasn't old enough to be able to learn how to hide them. His hair was long and down, but sometimes Venti would braid it either in the front like his own or in the back.

Then...they had another child, a daughter that also took the trait of blonde hair but had Barbara's blue eyes. This one too grew wings but they stopped growing just after she turned four. She was always disappointed that her wings never grew, she felt left out, but Barbara and Venti always comforted her.

The two children were enough for them, and they were able to use anemo at their disposal without a vision. Their family lasted and it was modern times now, letting them walk around and still blend in with mortals. A few archons had passed but Venti and Barbara were still there, however visions were scarce so they drew some attention by having their visions on display. They got paid visits by their children, but it was still sad that it made Venti cry every time their children had to depart.

However what made Barbara cry was when she thought back to everyone she had lost, she knew it was a sacrifice she had embraced but it still hurt. She spiraled, waking up in the middle of night and not being able to sleep again, having nightmares, and feathers could be found on the floor; they were falling out of her wings. Venti took note of the signs and was cuddling her in bed, placing kisses on her forehead and cheeks.

"Hey, Barbara? You do know you can talk to me about anything, right? You've...been...well, just not seeming well. And I don't mean that is in sick."

Barbara stayed silent, burying her face into Venti's bare chest. She traced his markings with her finger, hoping he'd give up and fall asleep. He laced his hand in her hair, letting her stay where she was.

"Please darling, open up to me, I'm here to listen. I'm here to love and care about you."

"...I miss them..."

Venti frowned, he should've known...She has seen so many people she's cared about pass and hasn't made any new friends in years, probably to prevent her heartache from when someone dies.

"I...get it...I had one friend die on me and it was enough to make me grieve for hundreds of years, but you...you sacrificed so much to be with me, and I really do love you and appreciate that...I'm sorry one of those sacrifices was seeing the people you know and love pass...I've only lost a few people but you lost the entirety of mondstadt basically, but just know you can always tell me...I love you, my goddess..."

Barbara was sobbing into his chest, her breathing uneasy and her body shaking. Venti rubbed her back, kissing her one more time on her forehead before fully tucking them into the blanket. He waited until she was asleep in order to go to sleep himself. He wondered what he could do to ease the pain...What if he...No he shouldn't...But it would help so much if she didn't even remember the ones who passed...But it was also wrong of him to do that, and he hadn't done anything like that in so long so he may accidentally erase more or less than what he means to. He sighed, falling asleep with Barbara in his arms.
