the morning of the tourney was a complete rush for saphrona. she had woken up late again.

her handmaiden, who was named leah, helped her get dressed. "i'm sure the queen would love to see you before you go to the royal box with the princess." the girl smiled at saphrona as they looked at the woman in the mirror.

the dress was beautiful, saphrona could not thank killian enough for buying it for her. her long dark brown hair was braided back in intricate designs by leah while saphrona eyed the necklace from daemon.

leah noticed what she was looking at. "you should put it on, it matches your dress perfectly!" she smiled.

saphrona made a face, before finally submitting. "oh fuck it, i'll put it on. i guess it is pretty." she shrugged, letting leah put the clasp on the back around her neck. the necklace dropped in the perfect spot on her chest.

she finally remembered where she was, snapping out of her trance of staring at herself in the mirror. "you must be off, i'm going to see my sister." she nodded to leah, before taking off out of her door and into the hallway.

ser godfrey headed in the same direction behind her as she hurried to her sister's chambers. when she walked in, maesters and nurses were everywhere.

saphrona laughed when she saw her sister, "you look like the seven hells all put together right now sister."

aemma gave her a dirty look. "you try having a baby and we shall see how beautiful you look." the queen winced in pain.

the younger arryn knelt by her bedside, taking her hand. "i can skip the tourney and be here with you today if you need me to." she offered.

her older sister shook her head. "no, everyone must see how beautiful my little sister is today. i always said you'd be prettier than me, now everyone will know it's true." she laughed weakly.

saphrona disagreed, "i'd never be prettier than the queen of westeros. never." unexpectedly, she felt tears spring to her eyes. for some reason, she had a sinking feeling inside. she didn't know why.

"you will always be the better arryn girl, now go to the tourney. rhaenyra needs looking after." aemma ordered. saphrona nodded, kissing her sister on the cheek before leaving.

once the girl got outside of the queen's chambers she stood there in front of the doors. she sighed, wiped her tears, and headed toward rhaenyra's room to accompany her and alicent to the tourney.

she met the two girls in the hallway. "i suppose you two are ready to go to the tourney then." saphrona chuckled as the two girls were clearly shaking with excitement.

the two girls nodded. "i can't wait to see who will triumph today at the tourney!" alicent exclaimed, gripping rhaenyra's hand.

rhaenyra looked at her aunt with a quirked brow. "i have some guesses on who might win. what about you auntie?" the princess asked.
