saphrona had not been awake but a couple minutes when deacon bursted into her bedroom. daemon had still not been back to the vale, and honestly saphrona did not know if she wanted him back if that was the way he was going to act.

"mother, mother! cousin jace is here! he wants to speak with you, urgently." deacon exclaimed, throwing open his mother's blinds like he was her maid.

"ah, so rhaenyra and your father send rhaenyra's son to do her dirty work." saphrona chuckled as she rose out of bed, unbraiding her long black hair.

deacon quirked an eyebrow up at his mother. "dirty work? what possibly could they be conspiring? aren't you a little concerned about father being at dragonstone? i know i would be." bless her youngest's heart, he was quite the talker and questioner. he wanted to know everything, and never left out a detail when telling a story.

"yes, rhaenyra has sent jacerys to convince me to back her up in this war your father is set on starting. i'm not too worried about your father, he will be back soon enough. once he comes to his senses." she rolled her eyes.

she then shooed her son out of her bedroom so she could get dressed. she put on a blue dress with a long train, it was flowy and the shoulders had wings on them. the dress was regal, beautiful even.

she had her maid braid a crown around her head with her black hair, leaving it half up half down and then she strode out into the corridor.

jace was waiting for her in the moon room, the most important room in eyrie. it was where the seat of the vale sat, and also where the moon door was. the moon door was the unique way of execution that the arryn's created. enemies were thrown out of the door and met their demise by hitting the ground hundreds of feet below.

saphrona strolled into the moon room, dayana and deacon already there entertaining their cousin. "little jacerys. it has been so long since i have seen your face. you've grown to be such a handsome young prince." saphrona grinned, putting on her charm.

"yes auntie saph it has been some time. although i've spent much time with uncle daemon as of late. i only wish you, deacon, and dayana could have visited as well." jace grinned.

saphrona couldn't lie, aenor had definitely taught jace a little something when it came to charisma and charm because jace was a little charmer.

"yes, do tell daemon when you go back to dragonstone that i'll be expecting him back home soon. the children miss him so." saphrona couldn't stand that her husband was more concerned about starting a war than his own family. he should be here talking to jacerys, not her.

deacon rolled his eyes from behind his mother, ever the impatient one. "jacerys, do tell mother why you actually came here. i'm sure it's not for petty small talk." dayana giggled at her brother's sassiness. he was now ten and six, a young man himself.
