it had been a three months after the couple had married and finally they had tied up all loose ends in king's landing.

killian had retired his gold cloak and said he was ready to take a bigger role back home, as he was set to inherit storm's end.

saphrona hadn't shown any signs of pregnancy yet, but it wasn't for lack of trying. killian thought if they were back home then maybe, just maybe, it would be easier.

the two were now in the foyer of the castle, their belongings were packed and they were set to ride to storm's end. the load was light, as all of saphrona's dresses were blue and therefore not totally appropriate for her new last name.

she had begged killian not to take a carriage, so they had to be thoughtful about what they truly wanted at storms end. only necessities. of course, godfrey loved this idea as he hated carriages. he was also excited to be leaving the red keep, though he kept that thought to himself.

the two were saying their goodbyes, mainly to rhaenyra and viserys. viserys had announced he was marrying alicent hightower, and saphrona had decided that it was probably time for her to leave after that. she would be no longer the sister in law, as her queen sister was being replaced after her death.

rhaenyra, of course, was furious. "this is the time i need you both the most auntie and uncle. must you leave?" she begged as the two were headed out the castle doors.

saphrona hugged her beloved niece tightly. it wasn't easy to leave her, rhaenyra was her one piece left of aemma. "some difficult moments, we must brave on our own. killian has responsibilities to tend to back home, and what kind of wife am i to leave him alone?" she questioned her niece.

rhaenyra nodded, "you are right. you must tend to your lord husband. i will write you nearly every day, so you must answer!" she shouted as saphrona hopped onto shadowfax. her hound was prancing at the horses feet, ready to run.

killian laughed, "we shall both write you rhaenyra! do not fret, we will be back soon to visit!" he smiled brightly at the girl as they trotted off out of the castle.

the three of them: godfrey, killian, and saphrona accompanied by saphrona's hunting hound were off on a seven days trip to storm's end. just a few days longer than it took to get to the eyrie from king's landing.

the first day was quite nice in saphrona's opinion. it was summer, so the days were hot and the nights were fairly warm. they were not suffering at the least.

the first night, killian trapped some rabbit for them to have for dinner. the three of them sat around the fire eating as ajax munched on a bone.

saphrona smiled as she looked at the two men. "you know, i can't believe i'm saying this but i missed this. even though the last time i did this, aellius...well what i'm trying to say is i'm just glad i can do this again and enjoy it." her words filled the silence in the air.
