Stiles and Scott sat at the back of the school bus with Brie sitting in the seats infront of them. They were on there way to a cross country meet. She was fortunate enough to have no one sitting beside her so she sat in a way that she had her legs up on the free seat beside her and was facing Stiles and Scott.

Stiles was currently testing Scott on his knowledge of words and there meanings. Even though Scott was bleeding out and seemed to always be seconds away from passing out.

"Yeah, sorry, what's the word?" Scott asked Stiles after he zoned out for a moment.

"'Anachronism.'"

Scott thought for a moment. "Something that exists out of its normal time."

"Nice," Brie smiled.

"Okay, next word," Stiles went on. "' Incongruous.'"

"Um," Scott hesitated. "Can you use it in a sentence?"

"Yes," Stiles answered. "Yes, I can. It's completely incongruous that we're sitting on a bus right now on our way to some stupid cross- country meet after what just happened, incongruous."

Brie rolled her eyes as she listened to the pairs conversation.

"Out of place, ridiculous, absurd," Scott answered.

"Perfect," Stiles put his thumbs up. "Okay, next word. Um, Darach. Darach, it's a noun."

Brie looked to see Scott's reaction. It was obvious Stiles was desperate to talk about what's happening at the moment but Scott would rather do anything else.

When Stiles looked over and saw Scott's shocked expression he continued. "We have to talk about it sometime, okay? And we're gonna be stuck in this thing for, like, five hours, so why not?"

"He's right, Scotty," Brie said softly.

When Scott didn't look like he was gonna open up, Stiles went on. "Next word.. 'Intransigent.'"

"Stubborn, obstinate," Scott answered weakly but flinched once the bus went over a bump in the road.

"Oh, buddy, you okay?" Stiles asked.

"Does it still hurt that bad?" Brie said, slightly shocked.

"We shouldn't have come," Stiles said. "Brie, do that healy thingy you did on me before."

"This is a lot bigger then a bird scratch, Stiles," Brie told him.

"I knew it. We shouldn't have come," Stiles continued.

"We had to," Scott spoke up. "There's safety in numbers."

"Yeah, well, there's also death in numbers, okay?" the Stilinski boy said. "It's called a massacre, or bloodbath, carnage, slaughter, butchery, wow, that's.."

"Not helping Stiles," Brie muttered as Scott let out a groan.

"Alright, Scott, I'm telling Coach that..."

"No. No, no, no. I'm all right."

"Scott, may I remind you that, like you, I too can tell when someone is lying," Brie told him. "I can literally feel you pain when I touch you."

Scott turned to look at her. "I'm alright, I swear."

"Well, you don't look all right," Stiles said. "Would you just let me see it?"

Stiles reached to lift up his top but Scott stopped him. "I'm okay."

"Just let me see it, okay?"

Scott gave in and nodded, showing his two best friends the huge scrapes he had across his lower ribcage.
