twenty eight
_____________________The group were looking around the room for any sort of weapon the could use against the twins. Well most of the group anyway.
Brie sat on a table nearby, watching as they went through all the different types of medical supplies, hoping there was at least something they could use. Brie didn't feel like helping so she didn't.
Scott found a needle full with a drug called Epinephrine or in other words, a shot of adrenaline. Peter decided to inject himself with it to make him stronger and the two went out, ready to fight the twins.
Stiles, Brie, Jennifer and Derek, who was holding Cora, then snuck out behind the fighting werewolves to get to the ambulance. The distraction worked and the five managed to sneak past.
"It's still here!" Stiles exclaimed after having opened the garage doors and seeing the ambulance. He rushed over to open the back of the ambulance and quickly searched inside for anyone.
It was empty so Derek placed Cora down on the bed while Stiles held the door open and jumped in after her, sitting beside Cora to watch her carefully.
Just then, Ms. Blake called Derek from the side of the ambulance. "Derek, over here."
Derek shared a confused glance with the other two teens but followed the sound of her voice anyway.
Suspiciously, Brie stayed at the back doors of the ambulance and listened carefully to whatever Ms. Blake called Derek over for. She heard two heartbeats but noticed who there wasn't a third. An overwhelming sense of death washed over here.
Just when she thought the worst, a third heartbeat was heard. But the voice that followed wasn't one that she had expected.
"Julia," Kali's voice rang through the garage.
Brie felt Stiles pull her into the ambulance and closed the door behind them.
In a flash, they both watched Derek and Ms. Blake running away from Kali and out of the garage altogether. She turned to Stiles who held a finger to his lips, waiting to make sure they weren't going to be heard by anyone.
After a minute, Brie spoke. "The paramedic's dead. Kali killed him."
"I assumed as much," Stiles replied. "Okay, okay, okay. We're okay. We're all right," he turned, suddenly remembering the injured Cora laying there. "You okay? How you doing?"
There was no response. They shared an uneasy glance.
"Why do you look like you're not breathing," Stiles went on.
"Because she's not Stiles," Brie told him. "Her heartbeat's gone."
Stiles began to panic. "Oh, no. Oh, God. Oh, no, no, no. Why are you not breathing? Come on."
Brie closed her eyes, sitting down and titling her head to rest on the wall.
"You better not start not-breathing, Brie," Stiles said after seeing her, even more panic arising. "One not breathing person is already too much for me to handle."
"I'm fine, Stiles," Brie muttered, her eyes still closing. "Focus on Cora."
"She's not breathing."
"I've noticed."
"Can't you put a little bit of life in her?"
Brie finally opened her eyes to give him a look. "Do I look like I'm physically able to do that right now, Stiles?"
