____________________________The group slept as much as they could until Coach came storming onto the bus, looking very confused.
"I don't want to know," he announced after seeing the teenagers. "I really don't wanna know."
Brie lifted her head from Stiles shoulder, blinking the sleep out of her eyes. She slept beside Stiles, Allison and Lydia slept beside each other while Scott slept by himself.
"But in case you missed the announcement, the meet's cancelled, so we're heading home. Pack it in. Pack it in!"
Brie stretched, letting out a yawn. The events of last night still replaying in her head. It felt like a fever dream. Stiles wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close as he smiled down at her.
Just then, Ethan came on the bus and sat in front of the pair, right beside Scott.
The trio shared a confused look before Ethan began to talk.
"I don't know what happened last night," he started, talking mostly to Scott. "But I'm pretty sure you saved my life."
"Actually, I saved your life," Stiles butted in. "But not that it matters that much. It's minor details."
"I refrained from killing you," Brie added. "So, I think we should also acknowledge that."
Ethan gave her a weird look before continuing. "So I'm gonna give you something," he looked back to Scott. "We're pretty sure Derek's still alive. But he killed one of ours. That means one of two things can happen. Either he joins our pack.."
"And kills his own," Scott added, thinking out loud.
"Or Kali goes after him, and we kill him. That's the way it works," Ethan finished, about to get up but Stiles stopped him.
"You know, your little code of ethics there is sort of barbaric," Ethan got up to leave as he was speaking. "Just FYI."
Just walked down the aisle, counting heads to make sure he had everyone when Lydia spotted something.
"Coach, can I see your whistle for a second?" she asked, taking the whistle from around his neck.
Coach looked confused for a moment but didn't question it. "Hey! I'm gonna need that back."
"Do us all a favour and don't give it back to him," Brie said quietly, watching as Lydia seemed to examine the whistle.
She sat down and blew into the whistle as hard as she could but covered the hole with her hand to prevent it from making any noise.
Brie furrowed her brows as Lydia revealed the purple dust that transferred from inside the whistle onto her hand.
"Wolfsbane," Lydia clarified.
The group shared a look. "So every time the coach blew the whistle on the bus, Scott, Issac, Boyd.."
"And Ethan," Lydia finished for him, nodding.
"We all inhaled it," Scott realised.
"You were all poisoned by it," Allison added.
"So that's how the Darach got in their heads," Brie said. "That's how he did it."
Stiles suddenly grabbed the whistle from Lydia, reached over Brie to open the window and threw the whistle out as far away as he could.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey!" Coach shouted. "Stilinski!"
Thankfully, the bus drove away, leaving the wolfsbane infected whistle behind. And they left the motel.
Stiles placed his arm around Brie again and she snuggled into him as they watched the motel disappear for good.
