Enter Sandman by Metallica was blasting through the car, which was speeding down the road. The Munson twins were screaming out the lyrics without a care in the world. The two were on their way to hell, aka school.

Eddie and Lavender Munson were the freaks of the school, the outcasts. No one would think that they were twins, Eddie was the geeky metal head older twin and Lavender was the quiet hippie chick. The two enjoyed metal and rock music, but dressed completely different.

The twins were very close, never once have they fought with each other. They're also very protective of each other, Eddie more so after all the shit that happened the year before. Lavender didn't have a heap of friends, but she was okay with that. Besides Eddie, Gareth was her first best friend.

There was also Steve Harrington, who at first she didn't like because of how much of an ass he was. Then there was Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, Will Byers and his older brother Jonathan. Lavender was their babysitter when they were kids, and they loved her.

She was actually the one to get them into DnD, and she would teach them whenever she was over.

When Will vanished, Lavender happened to be with him and ended up getting stuck in a place that was absolutely terrifying. The two were only gone for a week, but it felt like months to them.

When Eddie found out she was missing, he was beside himself. Lavender wasn't just his younger twin sister, she was his best friend and he was beyond upset at the idea of losing her.

After about a week, there were two bodies that had been found, and when was told one of them was his sister, he lost it. He had never been more heartbroken in his life.

But when she suddenly came back, he was so relieved and never left her side after that. For the first few months, Eddie would watch his sister sleep to make sure she was okay and if she had a nightmare he would be right there to help and comfort her.

He remembers her telling him what he saw, and it didn't take long for him to believe her. He saw the fear that was written on her face, and the way she would scream out in her sleep.

When the two pulled up into the school, Lavender parked her car beside an unfamiliar blue Camaro that was also blasting Metallica. Lavender looked to her brother with a raised brow, which gained her a shrug.

"Seems as though we have a newbie" Eddie deduced, as he got out the car with his bag and his sisters.

Lavender turned the car off, and got out just as the owner of the car beside her got out. The brunette girl looked to see a tall boy who looked to be her age. He had dirty blonde curly hair, and when he met her eyes, she was in awe at how beautiful his blue eyes looked.

"Nice car" The unfamiliar handsome teen spoke up, looking from the car to the girl.

"I could say the same to you" Lavender responded with a small smile, then turned to walked towards the school with her brother, who was eyeballing the new kid who was still staring at Lavender.

"I don't like him" Eddie mumbled, turning back to face the school entrance.

"Eds, you don't even know him" Lavender giggled, nudging her brother who rolled his eyes.

"If he's eyeballing my sister, i automatically don't like him" He replied stubbornly, making his sister roll her eyes in amusement. The two put away their things, and headed for their first class. Eddie had History, while Lavender had English.

Lavender walked into the class, and headed towards the back seat where she always sat. The bell rung as soon as she sat down, making everyone pile inside the room. The brunette girl opened her book, and automatically started drawing random things.

"Okay, class. We have a new student joining us today. Billy, would you like to tell us a bit about yourself?" The teacher spoke, looking to the new teen.

"Not really" Billy shrugged, while winking at a few girls at the front, who giggled obnoxiously. He looked around the room, and his eyes zeroed in on the girl he met in the parking lot. He watched as she was in her own world, drawing in her book.

"Mr Hargrove, you can sit next to Miss Munson" The sound of her last name being said, Lavender looked up and saw everyone, including the new kids and the teacher, looking at her. The new kid walked over to her table, and sat next to her.

"You got a name, sweetheart?" Billy asked, his eyes wondering over the small drawings of flowers, butterflies and leaves on her page. The brunette turned to him with a shy smile, and held out her hand.

"I'm Lavender" She spoke softly, as the two shook hands.

"That's an unusual name" He said, making the girl chuckle.

"Well, as you can see I'm an unusual person. What's your name? I didn't quite catch it" Lavender asked sheepishly.

"Billy. Billy Hargrove" He smirked, as he looked her over. He noticed how she wore different clothes to everyone else. She was wearing high waisted bell bottoms, a green floral shirt and multiple rings on her fingers.

She looked like a hippie. He wasn't going to lie, she was beautiful but she wasn't the type of girl he would go for. Maybe that could change.

Through-out the class, Lavender quietly kept to herself, not quite confident enough to have a proper conversation with Billy yet.

Billy on the other hand, found himself glancing at her every once in a while. There was something about her that he couldn't quite place, and it frustrated him.

When it was break time, Lavender packed up her things and quickly made her way to her locker. As she was putting her stuff away, someone hit the locker beside her. The brunette girl jumped at the noise, and turned to see Tommy and Carol grinning at her.

"Hey, looney" Tommy snickered, but Lavender paid him no mind and finished putting away her things.

Billy, who was in hearing rang of the three, stopped and frowned at what Tommy called her. And he watched as Lavender went to leave, but was stopped by Carol.

"Where are you going hippie freak? You gonna go hang out with your freak of a brother and his geeky friends?" The red head laughed, making Lavender's face drop.

She always hated how people would speak down on her and her brother. Lavender wasn't like her brother, in a way that he can defend himself against asshole people, but she never could.

"Aww, is little looney lavender gonna cry?" Tommy snickered. In that moment, Billy for some reason hated how they were treating her and decided to step in.

"Leave her alone, man" Billy said sternly now standing in front of the poor girl, and pushed the laughing boy backwards.

"Why are you defending the freak? Trust me, if you knew more about her you wouldn't want to know her" Carol sneered, glaring at the girl standing behind Billy.

"I don't give a fuck. Stay the hell away from her" Billy spat, glaring at the couple heatedly. Tommy raised his hands up in defence and walked away with his girlfriend. Billy then turned to Lavender, but before he could say anything, Eddie quickly ran to his sister.

"Are you okay? Did they hurt you? What did they say?" He rambled, causing the girl to laugh at her brothers worry.

"I'm fine, Eds. Billy here helped me" Lavender answered, looking to the dirty blonde beside her. Eddie looked at the teen with squinted eyes, and looked at him up and down.

"Why would someone like you help my sister? I know guys like you act the same way Tommy does. Thanks for helping my sister, but she has me. And i would prefer it if you stayed away from her, she doesn't need more assholes hassling her" With that said, Eddie threw an arm around Lavender's shoulders and walked her away from Billy.

Before they were too far, Lavender turned to face Billy and mouthed a 'thank you' and gave him a smile and continued walking down the hall. Billy watched the siblings walk away, he felt ticked off by what Eddie said but in a way he understood. Lavender's brother was obviously very protective, and Billy respected that.
