After the lights went out, all the adults worked on way to try and get everyone who was alive out of the lab. It took almost over an hour, but they eventually came up with something. The plan went smoothly, that was until one of the demodogs attacked Bob and ended up getting killed.

Lavender was still unconscious when everyone got to the Byers house, and was now resting on the couch. Billy had sat himself near Lavender's feet smoking, while Eddie sat near her head as he combed through her hair.

"They didn't believe you, did they?" Dustin spoke up, looking to the overly stressed out chief.

"We'll see" He replied.

"We'll see? We can't just sit here while those things are loose!" Mike exclaimed angrily.

"We'll stay here, and we wait for help" Hopper answered through gritted teeth, the walked out of the room to find Joyce.

Everyone was quiet through-out the house, none of them really up to talking. Everything that's happened with Will and Lavender, the Bob's gruesome death, it was all just too much.

Will was sitting on the floor next to Lavender, while he basically hugged her arm. Johnathan and Nancy were standing nearby, looking at the unconscious girl with sad looks.

"The mind player" Dustin said, as slammed a book on the dining table. Everyone had gathered around, all of them looking confused except Will, Lucas, Mike, Dustin and Eddie.

"What the hell is that?" Hopper asked.

"It's a monster from an unknown dimension" Billy answered, making everyone look at him in shock.

"How the hell do you know that?" Lucas gawked.

"Who do you think?" The teen muttered, causing everyone to glance over at Lavender. Of course it was her, she was the one to teach them all about this stuff.

"Okay, anyway. This monster is so ancient that it doesn't even know it's true home. Okay, it enslaves races of other dimensions by taking over their brains using it's highly-developed psionic powers" Dustin explained.

"Oh my god. None of this is real. This is a kids game" Hopper sighed in annoyance.

"No, it's a manual. And it's not for kids. And unless you know something that we don't, this is the best metaphor--"

"Analogy" Lucas cut in, making Dustin look at him like he was stupid.

"Analogy? That's what you're worried about? Fine. An analogy for understanding whatever the hell this is" He said, his voice raising with each sentence.

"Okay, so this mind flamer thing--" Nancy started, but got cut off by Eddie.

"Flayer. Mind flayer" He corrected, gaining an eye roll from the girl before she continued.

"What does it want?" She asked, looking to the curly haired boy next to her.

"To conquer us, basically. It believes it's the master race" He replied.

"Like the Germans?" Steve cut in.

"No, Harrington. It was the Nazi's" Billy corrected with a roll of his eyes.

"Yeah, yeah. The Nazi's" Steve mumbled, feeling embarrassed for getting it wrong.

" Uh, it views other races, like us, as inferior to itself" Dustin said.

"It wants to spread, take over other dimensions" Mike added, making Lucas speak up.

"We are talking about the destruction of our world as we know it" He said. Steve walked off, already feeling overwhelmed while Nancy spoke up.

"Okay, so if this thing is like a brain that's controlling everything, then if we kill it..."

"We kill everything it controls" Mike interrupted.

"We win" Will said.

"Theoretically" Lucas added, just as Hopper came over and snatched the book from the female Wheeler.

"Great. So how do we kill this thing? Shoot it with fireballs or something?" He asked.

"No, no...No fireballs. Uh, you summon an undead army, uh, because....because zombies, you know, they don't have brains, and the mind flayer, it...it likes brains" Dustin answered humorously, but stopped when he saw the glare on Hopper's face.

"What the hell are we doing here?" The chief sighed, dropping the book on the table and walking away from the group.

"I thought we were waiting for your military backup" Dustin fired back.

"We are!" The man snapped.

"Even if they come, how are they gonna stop this? You can't just shoot this with guns" Mike exclaimed.

"You don't know that! We don't know anything!" Hopper yelled back.

"Guys! Hey, shut up!" Eddie yelled, making Mike and Hopper quickly shut up and look to the metalhead.

"Arguing isn't going to help anybody, especially my sister who is laying unconscious over there with a shadow monster taking over her mind. We need to figure out how the fuck to get it out and kill it, before it kills us all"

"He's right" Came a voice from behind them. Everyone turned to see it was Joyce.

"We have to kill it. I want to kill it" She cried, her voice shaking as she tried to hold in her tears.

"Me too, Joyce, okay? But how do we do that? We don't exactly know what we're dealing with here" Hopper stated.

"No, but she does" Will spoke up, as he walked towards where Lavender was resting on the couch.

"If anyone knows how to destroy this thing, It's Lavender. She's connected to it. She'll know it's weakness" He continued to explain, as the others followed him into the loungeroom.

"I thought we couldn't trust her anymore. That she's a spy for the mind flayer now" Asked Max.

"Yeah, but she can't spy if she doesn't know where she is" Mike pointed out.

Hopper chose the shed that was out back, and everyone got what they needed to make it look unrecognisable. Billy and Eddie were in the shed stappling tarp to the walls, while the others did what Hopper told them to do.

"I never knew my life would turn out like this when i moved here" Billy said out of the blue, as he stappled the large tarp.

"Does that mean you regret coming here?" Eddie wondered.

"I did at first....but that was before i met Lavender" The Hargrove teen admitted, gaining a small smile from Eddie.

"Lavender has that affect on people. She makes them feel normal, she doesn't judge. I mean, I've never even seen her get mad" Eddie chuckled, as he taped the bottom of the tarp.

Billy smiled fondly at the thought of the beautiful hippie girl. The teen noticed a while ago how she never bad mouthed anybody, not even the people that deserve it. He admired that about her, and wished he could be like that.

"You love her, don't you?" Eddie's voice snapped Billy from his thoughts, and he looked down at him with a startled look.

"It's okay if you do, man. There's no shame in loving someone. Lavender taught me that actually. She would say "If you love someone, you should never feel ashamed of it because loving someone can change your life for the good. But it'll change your life for the worst if you beat yourself up over it" She's good with stuff like that, always has. I am curious as to where she got it from though"

For some reason, Eddie's words or Lavender's words, hit him. He was always afraid to show emotions because his father said it was weak, and no one like's a weak man. But after getting to know Lavender, Billy started to show more emotions other than anger and it felt pretty good.

"I do love her, so much that it scares me, especially since I've only know her for only a month. I only ever loved one other person, and that was my mum and she left me when i was twelve. After that, i didn't believe in love or like the idea of it. But i guess that's changed" Billy chuckled slightly at the end. He pictured the Munson girl in his mind, and he could feel his heart fluttering. He loved her. He really loved her, and he couldn't wait for this to be over so he could tell her.
