Drifting through space he found himself looking upon the spaceships, the missiles launched and hurtling towards Earth. Carol was down there but, she just floated there and let them pass by. What was she doing?

His sister didn't even turn around as the missiles laid waste to the planet, Kyler's eyes wide. Why wasn't she doing anything!? She lived there too! Suddenly she flew to him and stopped right in front of him.

She spoke with hate, "Did you really think I cared about the planet? About humans? About you? Earth brought me nothing but pain and I am so glad to see it be destroyed." She smirked evilly before punching him, knocking the breath out of him and caused him to start drifting.

As he caught glimpses of her joining the Kree in laying waste of the planet, he let a tear out as he closed his eyes and succumbed to the darkness...

...that was when he woke up.

1995, A Month Later

Kyler shot up, gasping for breath as Goose looked up at him from the end of the bed. His hand shot to his chest as he kept inhaling air as fast as he could, panicking. Goose got up and crawled up to him before licking him. He chuckled as best as he could as he pet the alien as he caught his breath. His phone then rang and his hand shot out to grab it before answering. It was a StarkPhone, latest edition. The mercenary money set him up for life. He put it to his ear, letting the re-coded phone let his modulated voice go through as he continued to pet his cat. "Yeah, what is it?"

Nick spoke quickly from the other side, "We have a security breach. Get here, now." Kyler nodded.

"On my way, let me just feed Goose and get dressed then I'm there." Kyler then hung up. He held Goose for a few minutes before releasing her and standing up out of the bed himself. He got into his suit, weapons and all, before feeding Goose and getting in his car before driving to the SHIELD base. California was hot as hell and he severely wished they could be stationed somewhere else. He heard the Triskelion was nice this time of year.

Once he arrived he saw some people scrambling and trying to help but Ghost quickly made his way to Nick. Nick looked at him and hung up before walking to him, "We have a situation." Ghost nods.

"No shit, St. Nick. What happened? What breach in security?" Ghost asks.

Nick glares. "First, I thought we agreed you wouldn't call me that anymore." Ghost shrugs.

"It rhymed. I couldn't resist." The former assassin defends weakly.

Nick just sighs before continuing, "We had a breach at the North Institute." Ghost goes wide eyed.

"How!? That place has almost as much security as the fucking Pentagon!" Ghost exclaims.

Nick nods. "I know. It was russian sleeper agents." Nick tells him, causing him to freeze. The North Institute was in Ohio, and if they were russian sleeper agents then...

"I need you to let me travel to Ohio on my own." It couldn't be, it just couldn't.

Nick looks at him confused, "Why?"

"Because, Nick, I need to check on something. If I find something, I'll tell you, just let me go." Nick nods.

"Okay, you can go. I expect you to tell me about any information you find." Ghost nods, slightly distracted as he starts walking away.

"I will. Take care of Goose until I get back. You know where the spare key is." Ghost then immediately drives to his place before hurriedly getting into normal clothes before driving to the airport. He parked his car somewhere safe before getting inside, and going through security and getting on the plane.
