Two months after killing Dreykov, he was in Ireland, currently skimming through a flight manual. The hell was it about?
He keeps reading, in full uniform, as a familiar ship drops down into the fray, then another ship lands right next to it. Ghost stands up, hearing his knees pop as he stretches out. He was sitting with his legs crisscrossed, and he was like that for hours. They got used to it.
Seeing a familiar man step down the ramp, he moved forward. "Yondu." The one in white greeted.
"Ghost. Been awhile." Yondu says.
Ghost simply nods, then speaks, "Yeah... who's in the other ship? Why bring them or the ship itself?" He points to the second ship behind Yondu, needing to know. It was usually one on one conversations. He never brought someone else.
Sorry, where are his manners? Yondu is a blue skinned alien with an arrow that he can control by whistling. It is very dangerous, and Ghost has one. He just can't use it. He can't get the implant required to use it. So, for now, it's a decoration on his wall.
"That is a member of my crew. And we brought it 'cause your sister decided that she needed ta give ya an entire ship." Yondu revealed.
The former assassin was prevented from speaking when the top popped open, and a young man, likely in his mid-twenties jumped out. "Yondu, where are we? I don't recognize this place."
He was wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, along with some baggy brown pants, a mask covering his face before it retracted into an earpiece behind his right ear. He had light brown hair, that was styled into something that seemed remarkably douche-y. What threw him off the most was that this guy was human.
"Who the hell are you?" Ghost asked simply.
"Peter Quill. Who are you?" The guy greeted.
Wait, wasn't Peter Quill missing? He was an unsolved case that even stumped Ghost himself. Now he knew the answer. He was in space.
"Ghost." He said simply, then looked at Yondu, before speaking again, "Rewind. What do you mean by Carol decided to give me an entire ship?" He wasn't buying it. This had to be a ruse.
"Exactly what it sounds like I said. Boy, throw 'im the activation key for the ship." Yondu told Peter, looking at him for the second sentence.
Peter groaned. "Oh, c'mon! That thing feels amazing to fly in!"
The former Creed member looked over at Peter, raising an eyebrow. "I'm not gonna tell ya twice, boy. Throw 'im the activation key."
Peter sighed before tossing the key to Ghost, the man effortlessly catching it. He turns it over, it looking strange to his eyes.
"Explain." Ghost says simply, turning it over in his hand.
Yondu reaches into his pocket and pull pulls out a paper before quoting, "'This ship has the ability to change form as long as the user holds the key. There is a limit, only one new DNA set for each change. Once changed, more pieces may be added onto the original, and the ship will accept them. The ship is self-sustaining, and already equipped with numerous weapons. This is my birthday gift, whatever day it actually is, for the next five years. Enjoy.'" Yondu puts it back into his pocket when done, knowing Ghosts policy on littering.
Ghost looked down at the key. "Hm. Interesting. I'll be sure to thank her." He looks up, neither of them moving. "What are you still doing here?" He asks rhetorically.
"Standing here, waiting for you to say thank you." Quill said. He was demoted.
"You don't get how this works. He shows up, drops off whatever he was paid to drop off, then leaves. No thank yous, no friendly conversations. It's a job, not a friendship. Leave."
