Chapter 11 Gone With The Wind

Given that Luca had left for Italy, Daisy had egged her on, and Louis had been spotted hanging out with Amber, Gia finally decided to give the boy a call and set up a date. She scored tickets to see Louis' favorite comedian and planned an evening full of fun activities she knew he would enjoy. Daisy, who was out of the hospital and recovering at her boyfriend's apartment, gave Gia the thumbs up and wished her luck on the night of the date.

"Remember to post pictures online," she said. "I'm sure Daniel will see it one way or another."

And Gia did just that.

As soon as they had gotten to their seats, Gia pulled out her phone and posted a selfie with Louis on her social media and captioned it with two red hearts. She watched the photo upload before she placed her phone down on her lap and turned her attention to the boy beside her.

"I can't believe you managed to get tickets," Louis said. "They were sold out for weeks."

"Yeah, well," Gia laughed. "I can do magic."

"You can," Louis said, slightly starstruck by the way Gia's eyes sparkled in the dimly lit theater.

"I really wanted you to see the show before you left New York," Gia said. She reached over and took his hand before giving it a tight squeeze. "I mean there are parties all over the world, but only one New York City. Tonight, I want to show you my city."

"I can't wait," Louis blushed. "Thank you for being so considerate, Gia. You are truly a very sweet girl."

"Aww," Gia tilted her head. "Thank you so muc-"

As she spoke, the phone on her lap began to vibrate. Gia looked down and turned it over to find a text from an unknown number.

"Do you need to get that?" Louis asked.

"Just a moment," Gia apologized. She swiped her finger over the screen and pulled up the text.

How's your date going?

Gia read over the number, not recognizing it.

Who is this? She asked.

Daniel.

Gia's heart leaped into her throat. She gripped the phone tightly in her hand and shifted away from Louis.

Where did you get my number? Gia messaged.

Dino.

Gia shook her head. Before she could respond, Daniel texted her once more.

So? How's the date?

How's the date? Gia wanted to laugh. She wanted to send him a whole paragraph about how wonderful her date was. Louis was completely under her spell and they were having the best time, better then all of their previous dates combined. But as Gia began to type up her response, Louis' hand on her armrest caught her attention.

Gia looked over to the boy who had his full attention on the man at the front of the room. All around them people laughed at the punchlines. Louis didn't even notice that Gia had been on her phone since the show started. She scooted closer to him and pretended to get the joke as he laughed and looked at her to see if she was okay. Gia took his hand once more and casually placed it on her lap. Louis turned his head towards her and grinned as he pulled her a bit closer.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

Gia nodded. She positioned his hand on her thigh and carefully moved aside the slit of her dress. She waited for Louis to look away before she pulled out her phone once more and snapped a picture.
