Chapter 14 To Each their own Kink
"Put the gun away," Gia tugged at Daniel's arm as her breathing changed and her mind spiraled down a rabbit hole. How was she ever going to explain anything to Daisy? "Daniel! Put the gun away! That's my best friend!"
"Okay, okay," Daniel said, his eyes darting towards Gia. Her hands were gripping his arm so tight he was afraid her nails were going to rip through his shirt. "I'm going to put the gun away."
"What the hell is going on here?" Daisy asked, her eyes moving from Daniel to Gia and then back to Daniel. "Someone start talking."
"You're really not going to do much damage with a cheerleading trophy," Daniel said, tucking his gun away.
"You wanna find out?" Daisy asked.
"No! Stop!" Gia stepped in between the two. "Dee, stop! Put it down."
"Not until you tell me what he's doing here? How did he get in?" Daisy demanded. "Did he force himself in here? Does Manny know? I didn't see him downstairs? Oh my god, did he hurt Manny?"
"No, no," Gia shook her head. "Just calm down. I'll explain everything."
"Gia Silvano!" Daisy was as pale as a ghost. "Did you let him in?"
"Daisy..." Gia took a step towards her best friend. "Relax, it's fine. He's not going to hurt anyone."
"He pulled a gun on me!" Daisy shrieked.
"Stop yelling," Gia leaped forward and grabbed the trophy out of Daisy's hand. "Manny will hear you."
"Good!" Daisy yelled. "We need someone here right now!"
"Daisy!" Gia grabbed her friend's arms and shook her, "Shut up for once in your life and listen! Daniel isn't going to hurt you."
Daisy's eyes narrowed, "I don't buy it."
With a heavy sigh, Gia looked over her shoulder at Daniel, "Will you tell her?"
Daniel rolled his eyes but did as he was told.
"I won't hurt you..." he said. "Unless you give me a reason to."
"Gia" Daisy's eyes widened as she tried to push Gia behind herself and grab the trophy once more.
"Stop! Stop!" Gia wrapped her arms around Daisy. "Listen to me! Stop!"
"Do you have any idea what your family will do if they find out?" Daisy asked.
"I know!" Gia shouted over Daisy's voice. "I know better than you, okay. I just....just listen to me...please."
Daisy wasn't convinced Daniel wouldn't try something. She glared at him as Gia counted the seconds in her mind. Once her breathing returned to normal, Gia loosened her arms and took a step back. She slowly turned towards Daniel and took in a deep breath.
"I think you should really go now," she said. Daniel hesitated. His eyes shifted towards Daisy and then back to Gia's anxious face.
"I can stay," he said, taking a small step closer towards her. He raised his hand to touch the edge of her face and herald Daisy gasp dramatically somewhere in the background.
"No," Gia shook her head. She leaned in closer to Daniel's warm hand for a second longer before stepping back. "Go before we have a bigger mess."
"Is this a thing?" Daisy asked. "Are you two a thing?"
Gia's heart couldn't beat any faster. She was afraid she would die of premature heart conditions by the time the night ended. Her lashes flickered up towards Daniel. She didn't know what to say when he answered for her.
