𝙍𝙊𝙐𝙉𝘿 𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙏𝙔 𝙊𝙉𝙀: 𝙎𝙊𝙈𝙀𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘽𝙄𝙂𝙂𝙀𝙍
JUNGKOOK HAS LOOKED FORWARD TO this the very moment he had woken up from his concussion. At first, it was for the sole reason to get his title back and remain on top, make his parents proud. And he still wants all of that; he wants the glory, the title, the fame, the pride of his parents but he also has something to prove now. Before everyone knew that Jungkook was incredibly skilled at what he does, there was no question about it, and some of the things Jimin did were a bit shady. He was playing dirty and Jungkook wasn't going to stoop to his level.
Jimin had challenged Jungkook and Andrea's relationship in public and now Jungkook was going to beat him in public. It would be everywhere, replaying on every major sports news network like a broken record. It would taunt him the same way Jungkook's defeat was at every corner, tormenting him. He'd be recovering from his injuries in shame knowing that the man with the beautiful trans girlfriend had beat him and still got the girl in the end.
"I understand you're nervous, Kook, but I think I'm losing circulation in my hand." Andrea watched Jungkook look out from backstage into the arena. The ring sits under spotlights and those who filled the seats, ready to witness such a monumental moment in boxing history. Jungkook hadn't realized how tight of a grip he had on Andrea's wrist until she said something and apologetically, he released her. "I'm sorry...I just- I have so much to lose if I don't win." He fiddles with the sleeve of his robe with his fingers. His hands were already wrapped and he has yet to put his gloves on. Otherwise, he's nearly ready to go out. He's taken his piercings out and left them safely in Andrea's possession.
Andrea soothed her hands over his shoulders, forcing him to turn away from the crowd and focus solely on her. The anxiety in his eyes melted away the moment his gaze met hers. Her hands cupped his face softly, brushing the pads of her thumbs against his rosy cheeks. "I'll still be here if you don't win so really- how much are you losing?" She says it as a lighthearted joke to cheer him up but it's terribly true. Jungkook will still have her in his corner if he loses. What more could he possibly need? She'd be right there in his corner.
Jungkook doesn't kiss Andrea like he wants to. He isn't sure if she'd be comfortable with it or not. To anyone walking around them, it just looks like she's grabbing his face and pep-talking him to get his energy up, get him in the zone. They've all seen it, that killer instinct in his eye when he gets in the ring. To be a boxer of his caliber, he had to look his opponent in the eye and think, "I'm going to beat you within an inch of your life" while also having enough self-control to stay within the legalities of the sport. Every successful boxer has it- that look. Because if they don't. They're never going to win. You have to fight fire with fire, match and exceed your opponent's viciousness.
"You've got this okay? We've got this. We're a team, right?" Jungkook nodded firmly, his dark brows furrowing with determination. "We're a team...speaking of team, where is Jin? I haven't seen him not once since we got here."
