❜ ─ Third Person's POV ─ ❛
Kala had just arrived earlier that morning—precisely at six a.m.—at the home of one of her most trusted family friends. It had become a little tradition, really: the Satoe Family would host her for the remaining days of any trip to Thailand. It was their way of making every farewell meaningful, layered with love, laughter, and familiar warmth. These weren't just friends. They were more like an extended family—woven into her life long before she even opened her eyes to the world.
The Satoes had known her parents since her older brother, Park Jimin, was just six years old, and by the time Kala was born, their connection had only deepened. So much so that Kala grew up calling them Ma and Pa, and their children—five in total—each carried a place in her heart as if they were blood. Ivy, Grace, James, Jeff (yes, that Jeff Satur), and Jesse were more than surrogate siblings; they were her protectors, her mentors, her constants in a world that often felt anything but stable. They were already close with her family even before she was born, and when she was born, they became even closer—to the point that she grew up calling the parents " ma and pa" while the siblings always counted her as their youngest. That just shows how she got all of them to wrap around her fingers.
Literally.
The Satoe Family is what they're called. They are a bigger family compared to kala's biological family as they have in total of five children [ *will only be using their nicknames * Ivy Satoe, Grace Satoe, James Satoe, Jeff Satoe ( aka Jeff Satur), Jesse Satoe ]. At this point, she doesn't clearly know when their families actually met but her parents, her ma and pa, did share to her that they have been friends since kala's eldest brother ( Park Jimin ) was 6 years old—which also means that they've known each other for 14 years now. Her family trusted the Satoe family so much to even let her stay in their house whenever she visits Thailand and with that, the family gave her a room of her own at their house.
Jesse, the youngest, was born on 1997 which is the same age as her Jihyun oppa who coincidentally is very close to Jesse because both of them were previously the youngest until Kala came into their lives which they stressed how GRATEFUL they are BUT not with the reason you might think.....the real reason?
It's because they now have gotten away from the 'youngest' position—which means they are not ones who get asked to do stuff—it's kala.
